    ARC Coup De Grâce Stock

McMillan has the action specific inlet for the CDG if you want a traditional stock. They make a massive ejection port cut to match that big ejection port perfectly.

    ARC Coup de Grace Builds

I like the green knob - color scheme is just in time for St. Patrick’s day!

is it worth buying a " headspace'd bolt" to match a barrel?

For peak accuracy, that $200 is better spent elsewhere. I’ve seen triggers, stocks and barrels do more to improve practical accuracy than anything else. ARs are hard to hold and shoot compared to a bolt gun and mechanical accuracy (those great groups people post online usually come off a rest)...

Where to get used scope value?

Also - reticles can make a $300-400 difference depending on the scope, so make sure to compare apples to apples on previous sales.

6.5 vs 6 CM for son's range gun

I think for range / match work (not for hunting), the 6 is generally superior and the big downside is barrel life. If it’s really windy, heavy 6.5s shoot a little better in the wind, but that puts you right back into the recoil concern. Go 6 on this barrel and as he gets bigger / stronger /...

    new here from Louisiana

Welcome! Not a lot of PRS length practice areas around unfortunately, although Bedico Creek is right by you and they have a 500 yard range.

Cone drilling for 338 Lapua and 308

What’s the tolerance on clearance? I’ve never seen a hard number as a maximum (e.g. 30 thousandths) which leads me to believe that’s a distinction without a difference. That said, boring out a 30 cal can to 338 is just going to make a crappier 30 cal can unless you have a really big 30 cal can...

9mm Luger - Windage Drift at 100 yd questions?

How big of paper are you missing completely at 100? I wouldn’t expect to see any meaningful drift and maybe an inch or two of windage at 100 tops. I’m pretty sure you either have a defect on the crown or your barrel is light enough that it heats up and whips around.

Coup De Grâce, New Action from American Rifle Company, $899 WOW!

Just got my ship notice on a lefty ordered in late July - now if only Bartlein and McMillan could catch up!

    Man that’s a sweet setup!

    Garmin Xero C1 Pro chronograph

Man those are almost Creedmoor numbers for a 24” with a can - I’d bet that the rifle will speed up substantially after 100 rounds or so. 40 sounds a little optimistic / sporty.

    Gun insurance?

IIRC my policy had $2500 of reloading equipment coverage as well as $5000 in ammo coverage (if I could ever have saved up $5000 worth of ammo without shooting it!!). Sport optics were covered as well.

    Gun insurance?

Sort of - it’s full of restrictions - damage due to mold, rust, lack of maintenance, etc wouldn’t be covered. No “stupid is as stupid does” clause so you might get away with some damages. Losses would need to be properly documented - would probably have to rise to the level of a police report...

    Gun insurance?

For a rough asset class - declared value insurance is a straight percentage of the coverage you ask for. They bill you based on how many thousands you want - I think it starts around $150 for $30,000 in coverage, assuming you have a safe and alarm. In the case of a claim, you’ll have to...

Has anyone switched their bolt knob out for a standard teardrop style one? Any favorites? As the handle looks kind of longer than normal.

    Straight walled wildcats

Given that you said subsonic in your first post - 450BM is a great choice. You can get factory Hornady Sub-X ammo for it and the reality is that a .338 bullet might expand but a .452 bullet won’t shrink. The pistol sized bullets (452) give you a great set of choices for subsonic expanding rounds...

best place to buy factory ammo these days? maybe family run?

I’ve tried my luck with a wide variety of the sketchy online dropshippers beloved by ammoseek (and sister site Gun.Deals). Amazingly I haven’t gotten burned yet, but I only stick to sites with a physical address and a phone number. Lots of low price/high shipping games to come up at the top of...
