    Rifle Scopes LPVO's and Parallax

If you center your eye behind the ocular lens, using the same cheek weld, eye relief, etc., there will not be any parallax error at any distance. Adjustable parallax just makes the system more forgiving by minimizing the error caused by inconsistent eye placement. So how much error you get at...

    Parallax stupid question

It should be in focus when it's parallax free. If it's not, as you are describing, your rear diopter most likely isn't focused properly.

Night Vision When did military start using IR?

There was the PAQ-4 aiming light (not the PAQ-4C laser) but like a narrow IR light beam that was around by at least the early 90's, possibly earlier.

Rifle Scopes Vortex Razor 4.5-27 new $1875 black friday

I have a friend who has an account with a firearms distributor website. Dicks will price match online prices, so he goes to Dicks, logs in to the distributor site so that it shows dealer prices, shows them the page on his phone, and they price match it, I guess not realizing it's a distributor...

    Modern outfitters MC7

I've asked 2 different guys there about their barrels. The first guy was behind the counter. When I asked what barrels they were using he said "our own." Then I asked what blanks they used and he said he didn't know. Then one day at a match they had a table set up on vendor day and had a bunch...

Rifle Scopes Bushnell LRTS 3-12x44 Reticle Subtension Way Off

Oh I'm sure. But "he" said "they" had never seen this issue. Sounds like by "they," he's speaking for a group that presumably handles issues. There was apparently a bad run of these scopes, and I imagine "they" will be getting quite a few back for replacement.

Rifle Scopes Bushnell LRTS 3-12x44 Reticle Subtension Way Off

That's bullshit. I sent mine back in February for the same problem. The reticle was way too large. It measured a 13 mil item at about 8 "mils." Got a replacement back last week. The reticle looks correct in this one, but I haven't checked it yet.

Rifle Scopes Do you typically use ALL that magnification?

I have a USO 3.2-17. If I am only shooting at a single target and can take as much time as I want, I use max magnification. Add in a time limit, alternate positions, having to search for targets, multiple targets, etc. and I dial down because having a wider field of view becomes more important...

    Member Link Up Mississippi??

I shoot with a friend on his family's land in Magee sometimes. Can only get out to about 800, depending on where the cows are at the time.

    Suppressors Red Jacket 22 can

I didn't care for Red Jacket after seeing all the complete bullshit on their show. I met the owner (think his name is Will?) about a year ago, and now I absolutely HATE them. Complete arrogant douchebag. I got a free t-shirt and used it for a gun cleaning rag. I will NEVER give them a dime, much...

Night Vision Armasight CO-LR Gen III

A friend bought one of the "ghost" models with a white phosphor gen 3 tube a few weeks ago from amazon. I have used a PVS 26 a good bit, and the PVS 26 has better resolution and WAY better build quality. But we were able to hit steel at 400 pretty easily. Only about 1/2 MOA POI shift from day...

.308 Shorty Build - Need SCOPE help and Opinions

I have the same basic rig you are thinking about, except with a 18" AAC barrel. It wears a 3-9x Mark 2 with covered low profile turrets. 9x is plenty for 500-600 yds if shooting at "practical" targets. And covered turrets are definitely the way to go for a truck/pack rifle. You can pick up a...

Fieldcraft Netting and supplies for a ghillie suit

Try Hobby Lobby. Netting is sold for decoration and is by the dried starfish and sand dollars. Grab 2 packs and you will have more than enough. Then stroll on over to the fabric section and pick out some burlap and some RIT dye if needed. Grab 5 yds or so of burlap. Then search for "Hobby Lobby...

    Advanced Marksmanship Rapid parallax adjustment

Re: Rapid parallax adjustmen* (radical idea alert) I put a piece of masking tape around my parallax knob, then set the parallax for different known distances and mark the distances on the tape. Kinda like a BDC knob but for parallax. Just turn to the correct mark or between marks depending on...
