    I can still very much use just a compass and map to navigate. Most of the time I dont use the compass though. Map to ground is much quicker depending on terrain. Always carry the GPS though for those "Just in case" moments.

    Have you thought about a Blaser Tactical 2 in .338 lapua? Excellent rifle with easily .5 MOA accuracy. I have had mine for about 4 years now and it still shoots .5 or less after 3000 odd rounds.

    Its been said before but consistency is everything. To get repeatable results you need to be consistant. Your cheek weld may be different, parallax could be off etc etc.
