Rifle Scopes Spuhr TRG Mount Problem?

I have spent the last couple of hours trying to level a scope in a Spuhr SP-4601 on a TRG-42 and now I am thinking there is a problem with the mount. First, I have several Spuhr mounts and love them but this one seems to be giving me problems and I am hoping for some advice. Normally I install the mount on the rifle, center the mount's bubble in the level and then use the wedge to align the scope. This has always worked great but this time after mounting the crosshairs looked canted. Checked the scope to mount with feeler guages and all seemed good. Removed the mount and scope from the rifle and leveled the rifle's receiver then placed the mount and scope back on and noticed the level bubble in the mount was not centered. After much head scratching, adjusting, etc. I ended up trying a SP-4601 and scope from another rifle and found the level in the mount to be level with the rifle. So I'm thinking there may be an issue with the mount. Has anyone ran into a situation such as this or have any idea what the problem may be?

I have no experience with the Spuhr mount but have you ruled out the scope's reticle being canted as opposed to the mount being out of spec? Haves this scope new to you or has it been on another rifle with no issues?

I would be leaning towards the scope or rail. I doubt the Spuhr was machined wrong, but it could be a, slight, possibility.

As I said in the first post, I love the Spuhr mounts and won't hesitate to purchase more. With respect to this one, I did buy one used and one new and I'm not sure which one is which, but they are machined a little different on the bottom. I am mounting it directly on the TRG dovetail and figured it was the receiver being off instead of the Spuhr which is why I have been messing with it for so long. But when switching with the same setup from another rifle, the bubble in the mount and scope are level to the receiver which is why I'm thinking the mount. Anyone have any idea how to check this to make sure or is there anywhere I can send it to have it checked out?

try to remove the bubble level from the "defective " mount and instal it in the good one .Both your TRG receiver and the Spuhr mount are quality machined parts maybe just the bubble vial it is out of specs.
