yep that makes more sense. Sorry for you being told wrong and for not being there myself. That’s a crazy week of meetings and gatherings. I try to be at the booth as much as possibleSo those things don’t happen but mixups occur. I hope you have easier time getting info in the future.

Really Right Stuff ever on sale? Best dealer on the Hide?

@sharfshutz762, you were told wrong. Either a misunderstanding or lack of knowledge on the subject. If it was from me a miss understanding, from an engineer probably a lack of sales knowledge. Apologies. We started it last year for active soldiers and officers.

RRS tripods...Which one is better for sitting shots?

seated is easy to accomplish with both 33 and 34. If you want to settle in much deeper with the 33 you might have to open one leg lock to the next position as long as your head has enough adjustment. With either you’ll find a fast easy way to set it up on an extremely fast time table. As...

Which RRS ball head for a 26 pound .338 Lapua Mag?

Thanks for the call. Our naming system is confusing for people who arent deeply involved in the gear, apologies. The initial in the front of the numbers are what type of apex, V in the middle means its a versa, F in the middle is a Fixed, and if it has a T on the end it has a taper made...

Which RRS ball head for a 26 pound .338 Lapua Mag?

Yes, I have used our gimbals a bunch. They work. It is an odd feeling to shoot with them, the weight is different, the action/movement of everything takes a good bit to get used to. My magazine kept hitting the lowest portion until I figured out how to set it up easier. I push all shooters...

Which RRS ball head for a 26 pound .338 Lapua Mag?

You can get the BH-55, Anvil-30 or a leveling base. They will all be strong enough. Anvil is rated for highest torque and weight. The leveling base is lower cg so it feels stronger than it actually is. BH 55 is the most traditional style of ballhead some people are familiar with.

    RRS setup

@C.R. Adams , Your post confused me, apology. Here is a YouTube video for how to time it. You can check out the other videos on that channel, they go over the anvil overview, disassembly, etc. That should answer any question you have about the anvil.

    RRS setup

Rated for 35 Foot pounds of torque from factory. Can be user timed to be much stronger if needed. We decided to use that style of capacity rating since there is no real standard and wanted to be valid for the actual firearms use. You won't over power it with your 20lbs rifle.

    RRS Atlas clamp compatibility?

They actually all work on the Cal now. They used to not, but they will. I dont think anything of our will fit nicely on the 5H. I was able to get a clamp adapter and a small screw knob clamp of ours to work but I really didnt think it was a good fit.

Adding legs to a RRS tripod?

Yes you can. You'll have to call in and order it by phone since its not a simple online process. You'll need to order two sections per leg and the additional twist lock mechanism and assembly. You wont need to order new feet because you could use whats on your existing tripod. Only question...

    RRS TVC-22i

the 2 series will fit on the top leg but you'll have to decide where to put it then you wont be able to collapse the leg any further than that point. The collar on the 3 series leg would be fine unless you plan on keeping the sling on while extending it. I haven't done it but i could imagine...
