Hey guys, Ive debated saving $1,000 and getting the Leofoto tripod but just cant pull the trigger. Im gonna suck it up and go with RRS. However, I also cannot spend 1,600+ on merely a tripod when Im about to spend 2k on glass. SO, as a new PRS enthusiast...would you recommend the TVC-22? Its in my price range. It does look pretty tall completely collapsed though. Any thoughts...

PS what accessories will be needed for that tripod to adapt to a rifle...ball head, adapter plates, etc? Im new to the PRS level of gear. Our issued tripods were trash. Thanks in advance

Buy once cry once is the motto I try to live by. Was in a similar situation as you and ended up pulling the trigger on a 34l from mile high last week. Just got it and could be happier. Comes with the new head and is soooooo slick. Coming off a 3-legged thing $600 tripod that I thought was really nice at the time. Yes... now im waiting another month or so on the new NF I wanted to buy so the vortex pstii will have to work until the slush fund builds back up.

If you go with the 22i, and you want the Anvil, make sure you select with with the 2 series platform adapter if you buy it together. (its in stock)

There are a few other threads on this tripod as well. Search through them and ask the owners what they think.

PM me if you have any specific questions. Or ask me in the open, up to you.

So I have a leofoto and just got a 22i and anvil 30 a couple months ago. I hunt coyotes and shoot a few prs style matches. Here’s my .02 on the deal.
For hunting and quick deployment the 22i wins hands down. It’s lighter, quick deploy, and your leg extension collars stay out of the snow and mud.
The leofoto has been a good unit and I run a rrs leveling base on mine. So keep in mind I haven’t ran the 22i in a comp yet but here’s my observations on both. When I set the leofoto up in a few of the common positions that I have used for field type matches I can’t do the same with the 22i because two of the legs don’t go short enough. For a square range type match if you use a tripod for rear support only then the 22i would be awesome. So my suggestion is for most prs style matches a three section rrs tripod would be the most versatile. When I can afford to do it I will be selling my leofoto and getting a rrs 3 section tripod to replace it.
Picture below shows the tripod position I feel the 22i wouldn’t always be able to adjust to depending on how short the front legs need to be to fit the terrain

Dumb question...can you put an RRS anvil head on the leofoto?
It'll fit anything with a 3/8 stud but works much better with the anvil specific apex or platform adapter.

I just recently picked up a 22i and anvil and sold my leofoto ln-364 and leveling base. I only had a little bit with both but the rrs is a bit more stable and is about 4 1/2lbs vs 6.5-7.
