AREA 419 hellfire system POI shifts

We discussed in email, but we don't really know what's going on here. As you're seeing in this thread, the repeatability of the POI shift has been REALLY strong on the system over the years. "It's customer error" is the last thing we ever want to say, but are you confident in your handloads...

New press announcement from Area 419

Have seen the sticking primer issue ourselves on a Dillon. Not a lot to be done on press design apart from a through-ram primer hole which presents some different issues. We have messed with altering sharpness/geometry on the pin itself and it has fixed our personal decapping issues...

Look what followed me home from Scheel's!

Scheels is a great shop. The most impressive interaction we've had with them was this summer when I went and did vendor training to dozens of their firearm department associates. They flew them in from all over to get trainings on products. We sell to lots of companies, they're the only one to...

New press announcement from Area 419

Yeah, this is just not going to happen. We have some ideas for dies and attachment, but this is not one of them. Same reason we tell people not to buy the 1-1/4" head and use LnL bushing adapters.

Have been for a while, have shipped a pile of them. Do you have an order in? If you do, and it hasn't shipped, email info(at)area419(dot)com and we will see what's going on.

New press announcement from Area 419

There is a little luck involved in all of those orders. We ship to dealers in batches and customers in batches. There's a chance you'll get one faster with a dealer, and it may also be slower. Some guys have even been able to walk into a Scheels and but one over the counter, but those...

Stan is a great guy, he makes the press and trickler covers that we sell. Love supporting him over some low-price Chi-Com factory.

Do you have the wrenches fully inserted into the rings? Don't want just the two ends pushed into a notch or two. If you have the wrench all the way in, you'll be able to get a nice snug grab. No reason to excessively torque anything.

Yep, sure are. Will likely be released later in the winter. No real production capacity available right now.

A calibration block as a spacer is the better idea, if for no other reason than it's simpler.

With the ram all the way up and a shellholder installed, screw the die into the turret until it contacts the shellholder. Lower the ram, thread the die in another 1/4 turn, run the ram up to apply some pressure to the bottom of the die, lock the ring down. The upward pressure from the...

New press announcement from Area 419

One day I took a pile of dies and lock rings to a lathe, busted out some indicators, and was shocked by the amount of variance between the faces of the die ring and the chamber of the die. The runouts would also change meaningfully when rings were loosened/tightened/moved/etc. On a Class 2A/2B...

New press announcement from Area 419

The locking function of rings is typically where their inconsistencies come from. The grub screw pushing on threads, the split in the rings - those fight against the ring being true to the threads (and therefore, in theory, the chamber of the die). I'd rather the die be set up true than the...

New press announcement from Area 419

Shooting a bunch of product videos next week, this is one of them. We won't push on this product until we have a lot more on the shelf, for obvious reasons, but we will have that content available soon.

OH - and Die Rings are available in limited quantities. More being made next week. I know some of you here already got your orders in and there are a pile in the mail stream, interested in your thoughts on them. https://www.area419.com/product/zero-die-ring-multi-packs/

New press announcement from Area 419

Lots of spare turrets have been shipping this week. If you haven't seen a notification, shoot an email with your name/order number to [email protected] and nudge the CS team. Also, the March/April round is about 85% sold, so if you want one of those, I bet there's about a week left before those...

New press announcement from Area 419

Our restock emails are commonly sorted into spam, but they definitely went out. Figured we would give the people that actively follow us a few days to get an order in, then next week push out an email to finish off this production round.

I love this - it's like my wife buying a new piece of decor or furniture and deciding to go ahead and repaint a room so it goes together - only way more awesome. You should take some before/after photos. The ZERO out here making reloading benches better places around the world.

New press announcement from Area 419

There were a flurry of guys in here that wanted them, so we figured we'd run a handful and play with them, see what happened. We may hate them and never make a large run, but may like them. Only one way to find out.

New press announcement from Area 419

The part to blank off a die spot is being made, just a matter of production timelines and getting things back in stock. Lots of capacity being added right now, but it wont turn into a flow of new parts for a solid 2 months.
