    Rifle Scopes Vortex 2.5-10x32

Mine is going on an 18" 700 in 308, that should be here in two weeks, that I will use out to 800 yards on occasion but will see most of its use 600 and in. The question of magnification is personal and depends on what you are shooting at and what kind of shooting you are doing. For a field...

Rifle Scopes Why all the craze for reticles in the first focal plane

Yea...I was trying to follow up your comment string with an agreeing comment to further describe the process. The quotes only picked up your statement and not the whole conversation. Running low on computer voodoo. The person who does not understand its appeal usually has never used one in...

Rifle Scopes Why all the craze for reticles in the first focal plane

In order to do this you have to spend quite a bit of time setting your reticle up at 100 yards. You have to determine at exactly what power setting you magnification matches your reticle and 1 mil = 1 mil. Then you have to figure out what magnification setting is 1/2 and1/4. The markings on...

    Rifle Scopes Vortex 2.5-10x32

I have the SS and have not seen a Leupold M3 in recent memory. Based on features alone I like the Vortex more but the SS is a good scope. They are similar in price and both are pretty bare bones. I feel like I give up less with the Vortex. I think both will prove to be very durable. On an...

    Suppressors Best 308 Suppressor

I don't know if anyone else has had this experience or not, I only have 3 suppressors, but I have had the best accuracy results and consistency with a light weight Ti can that is a thread on, wether direct or over a muzzle brake. The can that I have that is quick attach that is supposed to be...

Rifle Scopes No Self Control. Vortex 2.5-10x32 FFP on Order

In my experience using ffp scopes with low power in the field you do not dial down to "use holdovers." That would, in my opinion, be an improper use for the scope. the ffp scopes i have the reticle is useful for holdovers down to somewhere around 5x. I dial down below 5x because I expect...

    Rifle Scopes Vortex 2.5-10x32

I talked with Scott the other day about the design durability of this scope. I am taking a seven day rifle course in the summer and was going to give the PST a go if there was a reasonable expectation it would hold up. Scott told me the guys at vortex designed this scope to be at least as...

    DBM?

You should contact badger ordnance and see if they can help you out. I am pretty sure what you are looking for has been done many times. They can tell you what DBM you need, what magazine, and what will need to be done to the action, if anything. I took a 300 win mag and had it rebarreled...

Rifle Scopes Top Notch paint job on USO ST-10

That is what I have heard from several paint shops. They have also suggested not painting optics since not be able to bake them impacts the durability of the epoxy type finishes. I painted my scope with some Alumahide, which ever one is the no bake, and it did not hold up as well as I would...

Rifle Scopes scope still not in..

SWFA from what other have said, is one of the largest Internet retailer so optics. A real time inventory and supply chain management system should be a no brainier. I would be willing to bet they would see significant productivity and inventory management gains. These gains are typically...

That looks great. What is the scope painted with and how durable is it? Did he have to bake the finish? Thanks Landon

    Rifle Scopes Vortex 2.5-10x32

I did not realize how off those pictures look. The black ring is significantly smaller in real life and the view is more wall to wall. It is also centered if your head is centered. :)

    Rifle Scopes Vortex 2.5-10x32

Through the scope pics These pictures really do not do the scope justice. They were taken with my ipad about an hour before sunset with the sun no longer visible in the sky. The tree line is about 75 yards away. I have no idea how to make taking a picture through a scope look good.

    Rifle Scopes Vortex 2.5-10x32

I posted ~$700. The "~" means approximately, not exactly 700. Could be more or could be less. :) Approximate is also subjective. His advertised price on his website is $799. Call Scott and see what he can do for you. He has always treated me and anyone i send to him well.

    Rifle Scopes Vortex 2.5-10x32

That is one of the reasons I like this scope so much. It is going to be a good tactical and hunting scope. It is a great all around performer and it keeps the overall weight of the system down. With aluminum rings it comes in about as light as you can get for a scope with tactical features...

    Rifle Scopes Vortex 2.5-10x32

I have no idea what the exit pupil is at 2.5x. If you are asking if there is tunneling like the 2.4-10 IOR from 2.5-4 this scope does have a very slight bit from 2.75-2.5. it is so small that i had to sit there and turn the ring several times to watch it. if you were not looking through the...

    Which Safariland Holster?

I can't remember the model number but I have the one with a 1.5 inch drop. The lowest one that is not a drop leg. It is a good height to draw and reholster easily with or without gear. I do not like drop legs for long term field use or long movements on foot. Mine has the hood and the...
