    Need barrel help

Don't worry about bullet jump unless you are shooting VLD bullets. Bullets like the 175 Sierra Match King shoot very well with a ton of bullet jump to the lands. I'd just load them to mag length, 2.80" and be done with it. See this article about testing done by Mark Gordon of Short Action...

    Training Courses SnipersHide 3-Day - San Diego - Feb. 23-25, '21

It's CA law that bans possession of suppressors, not the Pala range rules. I've seen suppressors at our Pala matches, but they were owned by FFL 07 holders with SOTs.

Not a reload... but needs some expertise

The primer doesn't look overpressure, but excessive headspace would have caused a case head separation and gas venting but it wouldn't have sheared the lugs off the bolt head would it? The sheared lugs look like way excessive overpressure doesn't it? Normally dangerously overpressure rounds...

    RCBS X-die

I have and use them but found that they don't do a very good job of reducing case length growth. I followed instructions, trimmed the whole batch to uniform length, then put a trimmed, lubed case in the die and then screwed the decap/expander/mandrel stem down until it contacted the case, locked...

    Imr4451 vs h4350 6.5cm

In my rifles when my load development went up to 42.5 gr. of 4451, my primers were still ok but they were getting pretty flat and my accuracy at 42.5 of 4451 was not as good, so I backed off to 41.8 grains. The curve of powder charge vs. velocity also was flatter at 41.8 grains indicating more...

    Imr4451 vs h4350 6.5cm

When I worked up IMR 4451 loads I think I started around 40.0 grains and worked up from there.

    Imr4451 vs h4350 6.5cm

Shooting Hornady 140 ELDMs, my H4350 load was Hornady case, CCI BR2, 42.5 grains of H4350 giving excellent accuracy and about 2820 fps in a 24" Rock Creek barrel. My IMR 4451 load was the same bullet, case, and primer, 41.8 grains of IMR 4451 giving about 2700 fps and excellent accuracy. So...

POLL: Most comfortable Stock or Chassis for YOU?

For PRS type shooting, the Manners TCS is my favorite stock. For a more hunting type stock, I've got a Manners T2AGAP that would also work well (except for the red, white, & blue Americana finish!) I'm thinking that one of these days I might have to try the ARC Xylo, it looks really interesting.

CCI 450 vs. CCI 41 primers

I've used CCI 41s for years interchangeably with CCI 450s EXCEPT in 30 Carbine. The CCI 41s do have a slightly different anvil geometry and they are harder to set off. In 30 Carbine, I was getting about 1 in 5 light strikes which a 2nd strike would not set off. This was in a rifle with a new...

    6.5 CR w/IMR 4451

An extremely common load for IMR 4451 is my 41.8 gr load which is above the published Hodgdon max, but this load show no signs of pressure and my Hornady cases have lasted 7 reloading with no signs of loose primer pockets. My H4350 load and a 140 ELDM is 42.5 grains and again it's above the...

    6.5 CR w/IMR 4451

I just finished going through 16 lbs of IMR 4451 and if I didn't have 40 lbs of H4350, I'd still be using it. That 16 lbs loaded over 2,500 rounds of ammo. I found it to be fairly temperature stable, but not as temp stable as H4350, had excellent accuracy at velocities within 50 fps of my H4350...

That looks like the area that the set screws that clamp the outer turret make contact with so those marks would be normal.

How to tell if I have Weaver or 1913 rings

The cross slot of Weaver rail is narrower than the cross slot of a 1913 Picatinny rail. You can use a Weaver ring on a Picatinny rail but probably not the reverse unless you Weaver rail has wider than usual cross slots

    What is this? AI MKIII

You posted a photo of your rifle- are you sure the rubber butt pad on your rifle doesn't come off by loosening an Allen wrench bolt in the middle of the pad? If it does, then the spacer in your first photo goes between the rubber butt pad and the plastic length of pull spacers.

    What is this? AI MKIII

That is the adjustable buttplate spacer that bolts to the stock side of the AI. The rubber buttplate then bolts to the sliding stud in the middle and can be adjusted for height and tilt. Here's pictures from my AI AW of similar vintage. the first picture is of the parts. The part you have...

Broken tips on Hornady 6.5 140 ELDMs

Anybody else see this issue? I've shot almost 5000 Hornady 140 ELDMs since 2017 and until this month have never seen this before. A couple of weeks ago I was shooting a match and had a round go way low at 600 yds that was not due to me making a bad...
