    I have shot 100's of 223 Rem (not AI) rounds with Lapua brass, 77 TMK, 24.7 grains of Varget, and the Rem 7.5 primer with no problems , with sustained shooting.

    YES! I would use Patch Out or Wipe Out a couple of times, then some dry patches. It will leave a light film...Which IS a Good Thing!

    Just go shoot. Try some of the Berger ammunition (130 and 140) and the Hornady match ammo (140 ELD-M and the 147 ELD-M). Get a box of each, and see which one your barrel like, THEN, go buy bulk

    I have ran the 6mm Long Dasher from a 15", 6 Creed in a 15" and a 16", 6mm BR in a 15", and a 6 Dasher in a 17" with the 105-108's. If you want numbers, let me know

    I can probably get you some short barrel numbers. Tom Jacobs runs a 15" or 16" 6 GT in a specialty pistol, and I bet he or George has some numbers for 20-22". I will try to get some numbers with bullets from the 103 Vapor Trail to the 109 ELD-M's.

    Just under 16" 22 GT (Alpha Brass) 88 grain ELDM - 2940 fps 18" 22 GT (Hornady 6 GT brass necked down to 22) 88 grain ELDM - 3073 fps Both using Reloader 26. The rear grip used a Fed match primer, while the center-grip uses a CCI match primer.

    I Want a 223AI in the Future! I do have a 15" H-S Precision HSP in 223 Rem. Run 77 grain TMK's, Varget, and Lapua brass - 2675 fps. We have ran it out to 1300 yards on steel, and killed pd's past a grand. A newbie shooting it last summer-Her first day of LR shooting.

    Love it! Shot it out beyond a grand on steel. Killed pd's and yotes with it. And as noted, even shot a PRS match with it. Came in just a little bit better than halfway in the field. 55 Grain Berger's and Varget. MV is 3173 fps
