    Ko1M 2024 Ranking

Here are the ko1M rankings. Sorry this is coming so late in the season, it was an unexpectedly massive recalculation and ended up being about 40 hours of crunching. Let me know if there are any corrections. Ko1M registration will open up shortly. I'll post again when it does. -Alex

What is your guys take on Badland bullets ect

My library of stats isn't especially searchable so unless I have literally seen it, I have mixed knowledge. easier to differ to people with personal knowledge if they are around. -Alex

What is your guys take on Badland bullets ect

There is always a compromise between stability and BC. Going for BC at all costs and twisting them faster may work in some situations. Any shots that are into the subsonic range makes that a suspicious strategy. Lazers transition to subsonic and maintain stability at reasonable twist rates...

    Temperature controlled ammo boxes

The 12V thermoelectric heaters work well. You can run them off a LiFePO4 battery and they don't weigh a ton. A lot of FCSA guys preheat ammo if they are using 20n29. The better way to do it is with a silicon heating pad and a PID controller. You can stick that in a cooler easily enough. -Alex

Kicking around the .375 E to replace 50 cal. in the ELR-SR role.

I'm surprised that you found a good node up there. Seems like most people end up a bit over 3000. I guess twist rate is going to affect harmonics. How tall was the node you are loading for? -Alex

    Real World 1500mtr Group size

In consistent conditions, many competition guns will do about a minute at 1500 plus. I've seen a few very tight groups at 2000 plus that were very impressive. Where they statistical accidents of having seen thousands of 5 shot strings on targets? Maybe. They were usually by people that had...

450 seems bad even for a 33xc. What is your MV like? -Alex

Here are the rankings for 2024. Matches prior to fall 2020 have been expired. All qualifying light and heavy gun results are included. If there are matches that are missing, say from Canada, please submit the results to me and I'll get them included. -Alex

Kicking around the .375 E to replace 50 cal. in the ELR-SR role.

So I'm at the point of having to call the ball on chamber on a gun I'm building and I'm frankly pretty hard pressed to just say 33xc. I don't care about the barrel life since I regard that as a wear item. The pervasive view that the 33xc is a finicky son of a bitch with loads is what I get...

Kicking around the .375 E to replace 50 cal. in the ELR-SR role.

Damn... I don't know why it is stuck in my head that this is a necked down and shortened BMG case. Rarer than rocking-horse shit in competition so I think I've only seen two. Guess I should have done the math. Necking down to 338 is doable on a BMG case but Skip said the barrel life was...

Kicking around the .375 E to replace 50 cal. in the ELR-SR role.

Enabler seems like an evolutionary dead end. Market penetration in competition is pretty close to zero. 375 Enabler and 375 Ct have pretty comparable MV and the CT has better data depth and uses a smaller action which works well with the goal of reduced weight. I would think that the larger...

Kicking around the .375 E to replace 50 cal. in the ELR-SR role.

That is an impossible number for recoil. How is that being measured? For sure. -Alex

You can't push amax that fast. It barely can be pushed to 2700. The problem is the bearing surface is massive on a swaged bullet. Damn near an inch long. Most of the time 2650 is where those end up shooting well. Solids have a much smaller drive band and can be pushed faster safely. -Alex

Hornady Amax is also an approved projectile. My calculation was done at 2850 which is entirely doable in a 32 inch barrel. -Alex

Kicking around the .375 E to replace 50 cal. in the ELR-SR role.

M33 is a straw man. 800 Grain Gen 2 Lazer: 1000 Yards = 6.5 Mils 2000 Yards = 18.7 Mils 2500 Yards = 28.1 Mils That calculation is here at essentially sea level with pretty modest velocities achievable in a 32" barrel. 50 is a caliber that there is an existing supply chain and active weapons...

Finally a Good Shot Marker Stand

I'd give it another decade. Once it is 20 years past when it was time to change, I'd expect them to act on it lol... -Alex
