What is your guys take on Badland bullets ect

I tried out a box of 50 of the 375 ICBMs a few weeks ago because they have a good G7 rating on AB bullet library.
I could not get them to work. I was testing with 5 shot groups and I was getting ES of 80+ and SD of 40+. There would be a random round that would be 100+ FPS faster or slower out of nowhere in every ladder test load I made.
Groups were all 1-2moa. It never really got better.
I'm using a 1-8 twist bartlein barrel for 375 cheytac. Loading with an autotrickler, Whidden bushing, expander, and lee arbor seating die.
Meanwhile I also tested the 390gr Atips the same day and I easily got sub 20 ES and sub 10 SD with them while also landing on a .3 group.
They might work for some by my gun at least did not like them at all.

A friend of mine tried mightily to make the .338 Badlands 255gr ICBMs work in a 338LM. I witnessed his struggles. They were all over the place at distance even though they shot well at 100. He finally threw in the towel and went back to 300gr Bergers and A-Tips, but the Bergers are all he's shooting now.

Twist 9.0
BC G1 - 0.910
tried them in my TRG with 1x10 twist. I believe the twist was too slow, bullets probably want 1.9 or faster
I couldn't get them too shoot, probably pushing them too hard 3000+ (too fast, hit overpressure). I figure Berger could get their 250 grains @3k and shot great; I was hoping for about the same on the 265s
I was using 015 jump, probably needed a bit less, MORE barrel, MORE twist...
I still have them, I'll try them out again when I get a 33XC
steel head told me (back in the day) that
"015 is well within reasonable range of jump but I had better luck closer." He was using 1x8 twist

The old icbm 350gr held their own against a field of heavier 375cal bullets. The icbm2 was a little less successful. The icbm2 in 338cal 285gr got my only win in an elr match. Shot amazingly well.
Ownership is changing and bullet design will probably follow. The bc is solid compared to others and that comes with a little less forgiving bullet. Just the way it goes. A Berger vld has a better bc than a sierra match king, but that comes with a little more work.

I think your the first guy I've seen say the a-tips were best for matches. I hear bullet separation and there not consistent. My dad shoots the 230 a-tip not in matches just local stuff they seem to do fine for him
But I know most don't think to high on them
Well I've been 1st, 2nd, and 1st so far this year in ELR matches using them in my 375.
I haven't made it to Randy's match's yet only shot Ko2M there. Typically shoot SpearPoint Ranch and the other was Conquer the Castle.
So after some more mucking around with 265gr ICBM2s, they seem to really like to jump quite a bit. I’ve gone from 5” groups at 100 yards, to 3” groups, and now finally closing in on 1” groups, all by moving from kissing the lands to jumping 0.15”. That seems kind of excessive, but I can’t deny that the improvement is statistically significant. The problem is that I’ve burned through quite a few to get this point, and I’m still not even close to the 0.35” ten shot group I get with 285gr Flatlines.

Badlands like to be .035 off or more from lands they also like to a higher twist then advertised. But there is a change that's going to be made on the icbm 2 line to make it easier to load and make accuracy easier
They shot so bad for me that I thought something was wrong with the gun. Like 5” groups. I gave up on them quickly

I shot mine from a 1:9 which is what was recommended for the bullets I had. Buddies also shot them from a 1:7 with similar/ same results. Like I said we didn't try much to make them shoot, literally a couple loads and they were just so big of groups it didn't even seem possible to get them to a reasonable level.
Full ladder test .5 grain Increments. Starting at .035 off lands may require as much as .075 off lands
Badlands also like ratchet style rifling as well and to be run a higher twist then what is minimum as per there web sight the heavier the bullet per caliber are harder to make accurate due to pushing the boundaries of bc.
There is always a compromise between stability and BC. Going for BC at all costs and twisting them faster may work in some situations. Any shots that are into the subsonic range makes that a suspicious strategy. Lazers transition to subsonic and maintain stability at reasonable twist rates. A-Tips probably do as well but I don't think I've seen a 2 mile hit with an A-Tip yet. They are a much less common choice in Heavy gun though so this is likely a lack of data issue. NightStash can likely comment on how well they transition.

Pretty sure Jacklyn hit well past 2 miles with atips
I have multiple hits on the clock with them at two miles or further including a fist and second round hit.
My library of stats isn't especially searchable so unless I have literally seen it, I have mixed knowledge. easier to differ to people with personal knowledge if they are around.

I shoot the 250’s from a 30 Sherman Mag and they go through trans just great. Totally predictable.
I shoot 390’s in my 375 but haven’t had a chance to do testing into/ through trans yet
Just make sure you follow what the recommend for twist rate. With the speed of that caliber it won't be forgiving unfortunately.

I am not defending jason I am how ever defending the truth. George and Shirley is 100% the owner jason never had any financial investment on the company. The purchase of the building the equipment , copper business license , ffl, all in george and Shirley name . Jason was a employee collected a paycheck. His comment on that post was un true. George and jason worked togather on designs. That's way Jason's name was on patent. . I have personaly seen all the paperwork. License and ffl. Jason's was not a vested owner or partner. Like all innocent till proven guilty. Once convicted he becomes scum. . I am not wanting to attack or defame the other owner in the company,
But if you mean to tell me that a man whose name is on the patent, co-designed the product, and publicly claimed to be a business partner, is not receiving any royalties from the product he owns the patent on, I will have to say I dont believe that and personally will not buy a product that would be supporting a man who did the things he did.
Also, there is no innocence, he was already convicted and sentenced to 15 years.
