    Aero m4E1 uppers/handguard

Just make sure you get the M4E1 "Enhanced" upper. Aero also now makes a M4E1 upper that has the standard threads and they call it M4E1 "Threaded" upper.

Aero M5 Receivers not lining up

I have a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, and I work as a controls engineer for a major automotive manufacturer. Your statement is the same anecdotal bullshit that gets regurgitated by people who don't know what they're talking about. You literally have no clue, and think you do...

Aero M5 Receivers not lining up

Unless you work for Aero and have been recording stuff for 25 years you can't make the statement you did. You have no clue. And if you're making a blanket statement on all manufacturing, then you're delusional

    Dumbest thing I've read today

Aero M5 Receivers not lining up

Aero recommends using their M5 LPK. It uses "custom" takedown and pivot pins. (Not saying this will necessarily fix the prob, but something to look into) https://www.aeroprecisionusa.com/m5-308-lower-parts-kit-minus-fcg

    223 build help

Generally, barrel-nut barrels are cheaper, but are a little harder to install. I say "harder" but that doesn't mean it's a difficult process. Just requires an additional wrench (for the nut) and the process itself of setting the headspace may take more time. Where a shouldered barrel install...

    223 build help

Zermatt Origin/Defiance tenacity: $875/$885 Prefit barrel (nut or shouldered): $400-$700 Aftermarket trigger: $150-$300 Stock/chassis:$350-$XXXX Lots of options, price doesn't include tools. A bunch of smiths/companies sell complete barreled actions, so you don't technically need to buy tools...

    How’s 6mm Creed question

You can re-barrel it in whatever you want as long as it fits the action length and has the same case head diameter of your bolt. (Consider the feeding system too before you make a decision. Detachable mags, blind mags, etc..) Howas are metric threads, but there are plenty of smiths/companies...

    How’s 6mm Creed question

A 22" barrel in 6 Creed should yield high enough velocity for 1000 yards. What type of ammo/bullet are you shooting? You should be using a "match" type bullet with a high B.C. The Sporter contour barrel isn't great at long strings of fire, so like others have said: don't do it. Mirage from that...

    Above the Barrel Mounted Bipods

Oh wow, $250 USD? It's been a while since I last checked this stuff but that's like almost half of what it use to be. Thanks for the info

    Which model Tikka?

For me it was the feeding "smoothness", I shot my first CTR stock for a while then dropped it into a chassis that used AICS mags. There was a good difference in feeding smoothness/feel. Reliability was 100% for either one, just keep in mind there's also a lot more factors to consider when...

    Which model Tikka?

Depends what country you are in too. That may or may not limit your choices. CTR is still probably your best bet. It's a better value than most the other configurations. The KRG Bravo can be inleted for AICS mags or the CTR mags. I like the CTR mags over the AICS ones personally.

    Which Scope Under $1000(aud)

The $1000 AUD part is going to be hard, lots of good deals here in the USA. Not sure of deals in Australia. (FYI: You posted this in the "Bolt action" forum where you should have posted this in the "Observation and Sighting Devices" forum)

Looking for a 300 PRC, 60 deg bolt, ai mags

Sako S20 might be worth checking out. It's a lighterweight "precision" oriented hunting rifle that currently comes in 6.5 PRC which would do well for your need. I think future plans might include a 300 PRC release, but I might be wrong.

Looking for a 300 PRC, 60 deg bolt, ai mags

I think you are trying to do to much with one rifle. A lightweight 300PRC would be awful for PRS. You would want a heavy, smaller caliber rifle (which would be bad for elk hunting) I think you would be better off prioritizing one function over the other instead of having a compromised rifle...

First Bolt Action Rifle Purchase Advice

Very true, my apologies OP for my hand in it. I've had a couple of Tikkas and Howas both, and they are great. Can't go wrong with either (also Howa does not share foot print with Rem 700 FYI)

First Bolt Action Rifle Purchase Advice

Nothing I said was wrong! Like you said: None of us know what tolerances Tikka has for headspace, they could be tight enough for the pre-fits

First Bolt Action Rifle Purchase Advice

Better call up all the custom action manufacturers and tell them when they guarantee headspace tolerance that they're using the term incorrectly.

First Bolt Action Rifle Purchase Advice

I thought ANSI tolerance stuff was B4.X? Do you mean ASME Y14.5? Also what @LuvDog said can make sense, Tikkas generally have tight enough tolerance that you can buy shouldered pre-fit barrels. Using tolerance in that context makes sense. OP: Howa or Tikka gets my vote
