Re: 7.62 - JP or Noveske or KAC or Larue?? You asked if the SCAR heavy was accurate, so I'll just tell you a quick story. Now I know that everyone has their friend of a friend who's in special operations story, but this is my cousin who I'm very close to so it's from the horses mouth. He is...

    LR-308L: Worth it or build?

Re: LR-308L: Worth it or build? No, the R25 just had an Eotech and a sling. I think the biggest amount of weight comes from the barrel profile and the hand guard. The specs say that its close to a pound more, but I feel like they're fibbing on that a bit, that thing felt like a porker.

    LR-308L: Worth it or build?

After lugging around a friends Remington R-25 all Thanksgiving weekend, I strongly desired a lighter .308 AR. I went into a local gun shop yesterday and handled a DPMS LR-308L which comes in at 7.9 lbs. They had an R-25 in stock as well and picking the two up back to back is like night and day...

    Hog Wild! Need Help

Re: Hog Wild! Need Help So the guys over at AR15.com are of course saying to go with the 6.8 build. I will say that it makes some sense being that it would provide quick follow up shots. That Savage with the light attachment is pretty slick. At night will an Aimpoint still be clear to...

What was my experience you ask? Well...

    Question for backpacking/hiking/camping experts

Re: Question for backpacking/hiking/camping experts I just sent you a PM, but here are my thoughts: I only skimmed through some of the replies, but some other have correctly mentioned that you DO in fact need to be concerned about weight. Also do not follow the mentality that light weight...

    headlamps

Re: headlamps +1 for Petzl TacTikka. Used mine for 6 months on the Appalachian Trail with ZERO problems (just changed the batteries about once a month, and that was using it every night). The flip down red lens is great for reading, as well as all the different brightness settings.
