    Best Media for Wet Tumbling

    Im with Rustyinbend. Just wet tumble with cases, hot water, dawn and lemishine. Gets the outside real clean and good enough on the indside. It saves a lot of hassle with seperating the pins.

    I think I have tried all the methods out there. Vibratory tumbler, but the dust really sucked. Tried rice in it but they got stuck in the cases. I tried the ground up rice and that worked ok but not great. I tried stainless pins, worked great but a big hassel and I worried about cold welding...

    Stability question

    Well I tested them in cooler than normal temps, so that is a plus. I am not that worried about barrel life, I can switch bullets then or just get a new barrel at that point. But thanks for that info.

    I will be taking some factory 6cm with me as well, along with another barrel for my AI as back up, just in case. I will prob just load up enough for the class and see how it does. I am trying to remember what my load data was. The bullet was the PVA 100gr Seneca bullet. I haven't tried...

    I have been playing around with some of the monolithic bullets in 6mm. I am shooting them out of a factory Accuracy International barrel in 6cm, the barrel says it is a 1-7.25 twist. I am able to push these at 3200 fps and I am almost at sea level where I live. At 100 yards I am getting under...

    Porcelain Tumbling Media?

    I just tried shooting a few of them on some load development. In my AI the bolt lift was a little heavier with them. I thought maybe they were grabbing the chamber more. The load wasn't a hot load either.

    I got the porcelain balls. It got the brass clean but they were very dull, not shiny at all. It looked like they were media blasted. I won't use them any more.

    I just got my Sawtooth AI handgrip. It fits and looks awesome. Only thing I would have liked different is if the bolts holding it on were 4mm like all the other bolts on the gun.

    Case drying after wet tumbling...

    I used to shake them out with a colander then throw them in some methanol. Then just put them on a towel and they would dry out pretty quickly. But I just purchased a cheap food dehydrator and it works great. I won't be going back to the methanol trick.

    Unplugging the auto throw and plugging it back into the scale fixed it. Easy fix.

    I borescoped an unused cut rifled barrel: help me learn about what I'm looking at.

    I would clean it good then look at it again. I have seen some funny looking stuff with my cheap bore scope and it looked different after running a patch thru the barrel

    LOL. I never even tried unplugging it and plugging it back in. Thanks for the ideas guys, I will give it a shot.
