    Pin and weld suppressor?

Hey man, thanks for the info. Yeah, there was a time when I needed to get like 5 pin and welds done. I had the pins made, the barrels dimpled and things ready to go. My local guy still wanted $100 a piece to put a Mig on em. I decided to run to harbor freight and buy a flux core welder. That...

    Pin and weld suppressor?

You know? You're right. Thanks for all of the useful information. That looks interesting and the muzzle device isn't stupid expensive, but I don't think those suppressors are available. I hoped to start this thread and get some useful information. I asked whether it was a bad idea, but what I...

    Screaming Deals on Armalite Barrels

Yeah, for me, my current 11.5 is a BA Hanson with the .625 gas journal. It gets very hot very quickly and turns into a shotgun and I like shooting at small stuff. It is getting replaced as soon as fed ex hits my door step. Some of the comments here have me a bit concerned, but Ive seen Armalite...

    Pin and weld suppressor?

Have you done this before? I use hardened drill rod for pin and weld. Ive tried the method of drilling out the weld, but the drill bit stops when it hits the pin leaving too much of the weld around the pin to remove it. Ive also tried following up the drilling process with an attempt at doing a...

    Pin and weld suppressor?

I have an idea bouncing around in my head and wanted to get a few opinions. My favorite rig is based on a 12.5" Criterion Hybrid barrel. Next to my "precision" rig, it's my most accurate setup. It almost seems like it goes on autopilot everytime I squeeze the trigger. Anyway, I've never been...

    Screaming Deals on Armalite Barrels

I think it may be because of the chrome lining. I have a 14.5 criterion chrome lined and am getting 3000 fps out of m193. I decided to put together a 16" and used a BA Hanson barrel. Exact same velocity. My criterion 12.5 gets me 2900 fps out of the same ammo.

    Screaming Deals on Armalite Barrels

Well, I decided over the weekend that I NEED a hard use 11.5. I was looking at criterion hybrids, but remembered this thread. I ordered an 11.5 Armalite HBar, parked and chrome lined, from EGP. $80 to my door. I tend to be the "put it together and shoot it" sort, so I'll update soon. I'll find...

    Rifle Scopes Short scopes

Yeah, add March to your list. I also think the newer GPO compact 4-16x is worth looking at, though it isn't in the same league as the other scopes mentioned.

    Help choosing optics for 300BLK

Even out to 100, I like to have some magnification for seeing through dense foliage and low percentage shots. I opted for an ACOG TA11. I've never been wild about red dots and magnifiers. If it works for you, roll with it. I just don't think that the T2 is as head and shoulders above the...

    Cz 457 trigger

Maybe I didnt articulate it well enough, but the point I was trying to make is that there is far more to a trigger than how light the break weight is. I am fully aware of the adjustablility of both triggers. It was my experience that the Timney is the better trigger. It's just plain more refined...

Custom rifle or take the money?

I'd take the rifle in .308 if you have a need or even want for one. Just finding a good smith that doesn't have a 1 year waiting list isnt easy. Putting 1500 into a rifle is very easy to do and you'd likely wind up with less than you're being offered.

    Proportionate scope rings

Right now, I have nightforce, american rifle company, aero and Leupold Mark AR mounts. Ive already broken an aero mount due to a mishap, but the mount is what it is. It just isnt super robust. Ive never had a problem with it holding zero though. I dont think I'll be buying any more...

    Cz 457 trigger

At the time that I got my trigger, there were 2 main contenders. Jard and Timney, so I got both. In terms of pretravel/creep, over travel and break, the Timney was much better. The Jard could go lighter in terms of pull weight, but the Timney was better for me. I run it at about 12 oz and it's...

    New toy, and a question

Going with a Lilja is no guarantee of anything. You will admittedly get a better shot at a good shooting barrel for your $500, but it's no guarantee. If you're gonna spend that much on an after market barrel, I'd find a Smith to spin me up a barrel for at least a good thermal fit, if not...

You could check out what's for sale at rimfire central. You should be able to grab a pull off barrel. Ive seen a few for sale there.

AR10 6.5 Creedmoor problems.... Need Help Bad

This is why it drives me crazy when people refer to the AR platform as tinker toys. Yeah, anyone can throw the parts together only to be left scratching their head when things go bad. It's hard to tell just from what's been posted, but my knee jerk reaction would be a head spacing issue, but...

Point of diminishing returns for a 2-12 ish scope

I'm a big LPVO fan. I've either owned or, at least, spent some time behind all of the popular ones. Knowing what I now know, after a long an expensive search for the perfect LPVO for me; I'll say that if you don't need a 1x, don't go with an LPVO. Considering your budget, I'd go with either the...

Replacing the barrel on my Medium weight 14.5 inch run and gun upper

I like the criterion barrels. They behave themselves well when the get hot and they're pretty dang accurate. I have two core barrels and two hybrid barrels. Overall, I prefer the hybrid barrels. They hold a tighter group longer and are a smidgen more accurate. Of course, these days, you could...
