    Thanks for the useful info Armada. My intent was to find out if you could feed a single round without putting it in the mag. So it sounds like with the AICS mags, one would have to put a single round in the mag or push the follower down for single round feeding. My fault, I need to learn to ask...

    Maybe "lock open" was the wrong analogy. I don't have any experience with detachable mag/bolt gun. Just curious, thanks for the input. (I did have an mauser 96, I believe the the follower had to be pushed down before you could close the bolt). Thanks again.

    Favorite Rimfire Upgrade/Mod?

    Not sure if it really qualifies as a mod but after modifying 10/22 after 10/22, the best thing i did was swap it all out for a Volquartsen factory rifle. Fit and finish is outstanding, accuracy is superb. And it has a warranty....
