Rifle Scopes Nightforce ATACR. Complete failure!

Leupold used to make the VX-7 line of scopes. "Best hunting scopes ever made", they said, and they offered an overnighted replacement, anywhere in the world, in case yours broke on a hunt. Nice idea, but I'll take a backup scope everyday, rather then wait for the mail. Best case, scope breaks...

Rifle Scopes Am I the only one who missed this?!

I agree, the FFP version is really nice. I have mine on a JP 224 right now, and it works very well.

Sidearms & Scatterguns First pistol ever, which one??

Though I would not recommend a 1911 as a first gun, people have been shooting them left handed ever since somewhere around 1911. Technique and skill trump hardware, though the 1911 can be a steep learning curve for what you want. If you do get a 1911, get a good .22 conversion kit for it and...

Rifle Scopes Nightforce SHV F1 Review.

I have the SHV and the LRHSi. both are excellent scopes, and are well worth the money. The SHV is actually the old NXS F1. A few features were changed, but it is basically the same scope. Since the F1 came about way before the LRHS, you might say that the LRHS is F1'ish, lol. I don't doubt...

Tripod setup for actual LEO sniper use.

I think that depends on your AO.... but your point is well taken.

Tripod setup for actual LEO sniper use.

I only need to adjust the legs for extreme angles. Most angles can be handled by loosening the saddle and pivoting the gun butt up or down. I swivel by turning the whole saddle on the apex. An anvil 30 is definitely superior, but the overall effect works well either way.

Tripod setup for actual LEO sniper use.

The PiG saddle and tripod that is mentioned above is a very workable solution, just a bit heavy. I would absolutely go direct mount, and skip the cost and weight of a ball head. It is not difficult to use at all. As the saying goes: light, stable, cheap, pick two. Aside from that, I am of...

Advanced Marksmanship Barricade shooting wobble how much pressure

I find that my left hand is better off forward on the forend, rather then on the scope. Scope is a teeter totter, further up front offers better leverage, much like bipod positioning. In the case of that video though, he was using a pretty solid barricade. Very different from a wobbly one...

Rifle Scopes PSR-SS (Precision Sniper Rifle-Smart Scope)

I shot the NF version of this scope a few weeks ago. Pretty nice setup.

    Best Action and why?

If that's what he meant, then maybe being a bit more direct would benefit all of us. IF that's what he meant, I can understand that, as I used to feel that way. Usually, I just told people to do a search... However, I no longer feel that way (though it has been a very recent change). I no...

Sidearms & Scatterguns First pistol ever, which one??

I'm certainly not going to try to change your mind, your comment just really surprised me. The only thing I'll add is that your last paragraph is what i think a lot of people think. I used to think that too. At the time I thought that, I typically shot 3- 5 days a week, at work and after...

Rifle Scopes Have it "narrowed " down

I am a huge NF fan, especially the ATACR stuff. I would not try to dissuade you from a 5-25 or the 7-35. However, the SHV F1 4-14 is dramatically less, and may do what you want. I have used mine on everything from a .22 to a 300WM, and it was good at all of it. Might not be my one and only...

Sidearms & Scatterguns First pistol ever, which one??

Only if I'm working with someone who needs it. Even then, not much. I put the coin on the front sight, usually on edge;-)

Sidearms & Scatterguns First pistol ever, which one??

In 25 years of dedicated weapons training, I have never heard this argument before. Most people just admit they find it boring. You were a Marine, the Marine Corps practically invented dry fire. True, it was AFAIK, always done on a range, and certainly very formalized, but still. Dry fire is...

Rifle Scopes Moa or Mil... yawn, old news

And even if they did, who cares? I don't care if my dope is in meters as long as I'm ranging in meters. I don't care if I range in yards as long as my dope is in yards. And that's true if I use an LRF, or if I use a mil relation formula and measure it with my reticle. Exactly the same issue...

Rifle Scopes Best FFP scope with up to a 42mm objective.

The 3-20 is a 50mm objective, but thanks for mentioning it! It made me look at the S&B stuff, and I may have just scored an older 4-16X42 that I can use. Will be a little bit before I can verify that though.
