Night Vision Opinions wanted: Best zero for offset laser?

Varmints and predators at those distances can be very tough to hit with a laser. Not only is the offset there, but accounting for your drop at the various distances on such small targets can be challenging when done in conjunction with the offset laser.

Rifle Scopes Best FFP scope with up to a 42mm objective.

I forgot about the 3-15 SWFA, thanks! I think the objective is slightly bigger on the 3-15 then on the 3-9, but I'm not sure. May still work anyway. The inside of the shield mikes at 49.5mm or so. The NF lists at 51mm. The SWFA 3-9 is around 49.5 as well, and I think the 3-15 is more like...

You can range with MOA scopes too.

Rifle Scopes Best FFP scope with up to a 42mm objective.

I did used to be on PF, but left a few years ago after Todd died. I appreciate the offer, but I'm just in my research phase right now.

Rifle Scopes Best FFP scope with up to a 42mm objective.

That March is a compelling scope, but they list the outside objective diameter at 51mm, which is 1mm larger then the ATACR 4-16. Not sure if either will fit. I have also considered the SWFA 3-9 HD, but would prefer greater mag range and parallax adjustment. On the plus side, I know it fits...

    Tikka T3 Thread

I really like the CTR barrels, but I went with the varmint for several of my builds since I prefer a different pic rail, bolt handle/shroud, stock and mags. Only downside is needing to get it threaded, which is annoying, but oh well.

Sidearms & Scatterguns First pistol ever, which one??

And that's why context matters. First of all, those kids you mentioned are the outliers. Second, while feel doesn't matter, fit certainly does. Third, I don't think anyone was saying that a 9mm is hard to control, but that for good trigger control to happen regularly, as well as good recoil...

The Everyday Sniper Episode 91 Caylen Wojcik

Not everyone who shoots well, wants to shoot matches. I do shoot matches, with every weapon, from time to time, but frankly, I get much more return for my time out of my own practice.

Advanced Marksmanship Best technique for consistent .75 moa or less shooting from a tripod.

I pretty much agree completely. I think my first posts and my groups show that. I use a RRS, because it is so superior to a wobbly tripod and a sling. Nonetheless, this is the advanced marksmanship section, right? I want to see what the known limit on this is, and see if I can improve what...

    Best Action and why?

If you don't like discussing gun stuff, why are you here? What you think of as a stupid question is a big deal to a guy with limited experience looking to spend a lot of money.

Rifle Scopes Best FFP scope with up to a 42mm objective.

Looking for a scope to semi-dedicate for Simrad use. I want to be able to fit it in the stray light shield, and I would prefer if it had a reasonably large mag range, but almost anything that goes to 8X will be fine. 16X or higher would be nice, and 2-4 on the lower end is acceptable. Really...

Sidearms & Scatterguns First pistol ever, which one??

Haha! If I got paid to recommend guns to random strangers, I imagine it would not be very lucrative. I meant teach weapons. I agree that he will suck for a while but he will suck for longer, and maybe lose interest, if he buys the wrong gun. Dryfire is great, but really, only pretty...

    Best Action and why?

AI, for all the reasons enumerated here many times over, but for me, especially because of the inherent reliability.

Advanced Marksmanship Best technique for consistent .75 moa or less shooting from a tripod.

What are we making this out to be? Deep-diving, yes. That's the point. What is impractical?

Sidearms & Scatterguns First pistol ever, which one??

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say you don't do this for a living. Nothing wrong with that, but some context needs to be applied here.

Advanced Marksmanship Best technique for consistent .75 moa or less shooting from a tripod.

Sorry, you mean .2 on the scope. I thought you meant .2 from the group. So, you're saying that you can shoot .7 or better on demand?

Advanced Marksmanship Best technique for consistent .75 moa or less shooting from a tripod.

Is that what you can do on demand? Why do you subtract .2 for free recoil?

    Medium Range .223 Rifle

In 2004, with stock M4's (14.5") and green tip, we routinely brought new operators to 600 yards on the green men. Not 100%, obviously, and the target is pretty big by today's standards. They were also using either irons or aimpoints/Trijicon reflex's or occasionally, an ACOG. At 500, hits...

    Trigger pull weight?

I prefer heavier triggers, though i don't weigh them, and only specify the weight when ordering a custom one. My ELR rig has a 2.5# Huber on it, which is about the lightest I go. My single stage Tikkas feel quite a bit heavier, but I haven't measured them. Same with my AI. Note that I...
