    Rifle Scopes Adjusting your scope

First do some study about zeroing a rifle scope. Zeroing the scope has nothing to do with tightening the group up. Only with bringing the average centerpoint of that group closer to your point of aim. The average size of the group is simply a function of your skill level coupled with the...

Rifle Scopes How close is too close?

I had this issue on a Ruger RPR .22. Just shave the bottom of my scope cap thin and it slid into place.

    Starting out

Just throw an Athlon Talos on it in some Vortex rings and a Harris bipod be done with it. That’s as far as I would go with this rifle. At best it will be a hunting rig. The stock us severely lacking in the Savage and it’s just not worth it to go down the road of restocking it because you still...

Best Muzzle Brake for the money

If it will fit your barrel, look up the Ultradyne Apollo S. Self timing. Very little rearward blast. Barely louder than no brake and cut recoil in half on my 6mm. Made a soft shooter into a super soft shooter. I’ll be putting one on my sons gun now.

    Bergara HMR Pro-Brake recommendation?

I’m using an Ultradyne Apollo S on HMR Pro in 6mm. It’s self timing, fits up beautifully and performs flawlessly. Not only is it quieter than other brakes on the market, there is very little ground disturbance and little blowback to the other shooters on the line. All of the guys on our range...

    Suppressors Form 1 efile nightmare

Has anyone else experienced the nightmare of filing out a form 1 efile lately? I cannot get through the whole thing without some type of error on the line item. Every time I fill it out the pertinent boxes either cannot be filled out, or do not save, or when I finally think I might have it, the...

Rifle Scopes 6.5 Creedmoor - single bolt action. Need a scope (Beginner scope)

If the diameter works for your barrel I highly suggest the Ultradyne Apollo S brake. My 6 mm feels like a soft AR. And the noise level is not much higher than running without

Rifle Scopes Arhlon warranty Comes through.

So I had a misshap with my Ares a few weeks back. My rifle was packed in a Savior case and sitting on a chair about 1.5 feet off the ground when it got bumped and hit the ground. I gave the scope a once over and all looked fine so I brushed it off. Got home and while cleaning realized the mag...

Rifle Scopes The Arken Optics Thread (merged)

I've had the EP4 and the reticle was simply too small for me. Center dot got lost on anying dark or at dusk. I exchanged it for the SHR which will take awhile to come in but I'm hoping it's the right move. Can you tell me if the crosshairs on the center of the SHR cover the target or are they a...

    Rifle Scopes Monstrum Scopes

I'm using the Ares BTR now and I believe it's likely one of the best in it's price point. Very bright glass for what it is. Plus Athlons warranty will cover anything you can throw at it. There are plenty reviews so I won't go there but suffice to say if it's in your range then you won't be...

    Ultradyne Apollo S

No doubt. I should have mentioned this is on a factory Bergara HMR Pro. A relative lightweight of a barrel.

    Ultradyne Apollo S

When I built my last rifle I was looking for a brake and kept getting the same recommendations for the 419 Hellfire and the other usual suspects. After a lot of research I ended up with the Ultradyne Apollo S. While I like Area 419 stuff, I kept hearing that while the hellfire is a good brake...

    Extending barrel life?

I saw where Satterlee was experimenting with a bigger jump. .120 sounds like a lot but if it's working, why not. Especially if it extends throat life. I haven't gone that far. My last batch I was loaded .030 off and I thought that was a bunch but now I'm curious to back off a bit further and...

Rifle Scopes The Arken Optics Thread (merged)

I’ve had both the Eres Gen 2 and the Arken EP4 4-14 and I looked through the 6-24 that came in accidentally yesterday. (I was waiting in the SHR reticle 6-24. Center dot on the EP4 is too small for 50 year old eyes) I like them both. The Arken may be a touch darker. The Eres is fairly bright for...

    barrel break in

Cleaning a barrel after each range day seems excessive and unnecessary. Most guys who shoot a lot will tell after whatever your break in routine is, only clean it every few hundred or when accuracy drops. Or whichever comes first. I’ve never heard of a barrel having problems from cleaning too...

    Its decision time!

Bergaras are mostly shooters out of the box. At least every one I've experienced. You can always find an isolated bad review on any gun here and there even customs. Mine is a 1/4 moa gun. I'll definitely buy another. As for caliber choice, if you plan to use it in any kind of PRS competition...

Rifle Scopes Favorite YouTube Scope Reviewer

The cream does not always rise to the top on Youtube. The lowest common denominator often does. And that dude is a whack job. Dancing with the stars is also considered a successful TV show. Doesn't mean I'm getting quality entertainment value by watching it.

Bergara B14 and premier action differences

Area 419 makes a great front rail that works in place of the two studs. I used one on my HMR Pro and it works like a champ.

223 vs 6.5 Creedmoor advice/question for you guys?

I'd sell the sucker and get a Bergara B14 HMR. There are a few dealers on bunbroker going as low as $800. Fantastic trigger, and likely 1/2 moa out of the box. Not to mention the HMR stock with molded in mini chassis. It would take a lot of cash to get the Remington even close to what that gun...

Bergara B14 and premier action differences

Action inlet should be the same between them. The HMR stock on the B14 and the HMR Pro are the same.
