Anschutz Match 54 butthook and forend riser

Replacing with a later carrier and butt may take some fitting. I've worked with 1613/1813/1913, but for advice about the earlier ones, suggest you post your question in the Anschutz forum at Rimfire Central. That may also be a good place to post WTB for the parts you seek. You can get a...

Anschutz Match 54 butthook and forend riser

In 1973, the butt hook was still a one-piece, if I remember correctly. It seems like it was later (transition rifles, the 1613) that the two piece was used, and the "armadillo" with the 1813 and earlier 1913 (i.e., on the 4760 butt assembly). Once in awhile they come up on Ebay, or you...

Am using a couple of S&B 4-16's with ST, but you did not list those. Presume it's still available from S&B?

TOP 10 Scope Rings on the market

Badger P/N 306-75, 1.0" high M40A3 (USMC) pattern rings (front 6 screw, rear 4 screw) 34mm, should be at or close to #1 on the list. Also, all Near mounts and rings I've seen and used have been excellent quality, so at least put the Near Alphamount on the list.

Rifle Camo, why? (Can of worms)

Does not matter. It's yours, paint it whatever color you want. Some paint skulls on 'em, some paint leaves on 'em, some paint naked women on 'em, some paint little titties on 'em. Just don't chrome plate it.

Most Efficient way to carry this list of things

Very good! Seriously, speaking from a command perspective, would recommend you add a couple more people to your squad, and put one of them on point.

What trigger weight are you running??

3 to 3-1/2 (personal preference) on bolt-action centerfire rifles. 5 and 8 ounces on smallbore rimfire target rifles.

Rifle Scopes What is everyone's preference on reticles?

I have/use several different scope/reticle combinations. Which one you should get is a personal preference thing. IMO, you can count on a good FFP scope with mil-dot reticle to get the job done......... Beyond that, take your pick........but the key is to spend enough time shooting to...

Rifle Scopes Offensive title changed lol. Scope rings broke, What do you suggest I buy now?

Have you considered a "special" mounting system that you can repair yourself (got any duct tape)?

Torque setting on Anschutz 64 Silhouette

IIRC the recommendation is 4Nm (about 35 inch pounds). But.........I have been told by "others" with 64 action rifles not to put even 4Nm on the screws, instead to start much lower at about 12 - 15 inch pounds, and only snug tighter if actually needed......and do not compress the wood...

    Surgeon Is Taking Action Orders

Last year and half or so have been very strange, now it seems they've caught up on back orders. After some consideration I went by there yesterday and ordered one more 591 WSM action. Still thinking about an XL.

    What to look for

IMO, stick with 98's, preferably K98 (no 1866 french, no 1891 argentine, no 1895 chilean, no 93's..........). Suggest avoiding mausers from country of mfg. & issue except for Germany/Deutschland......i.e., Waffenfabrik 98 would be good to find, or the Mauser Werke Berlin Borgsigwalde for a...
