    Range Report Short barrel 6.5Creed?

No thoughts on the 34gr max load, but you should be seeing higher numbers than 2316fps, and 2211fps just seems crazy slow.. My Rock Creek 18" has sped up 100fps after about 200 rounds, and I'm sitting at about 2600fps with Hornady 147gr ELD's. With a 140gr I would expect you should be seeing a...

Opinions are like pie holes. Del-Ton

Can't go wrong with that price. Worse case scenario you wait until 2020 and resell it for $600 when Hillary is campaigning again...

    Save for AI? Or?

I have had my eye on AI's for 10+ years and had written them off as too expensive, and never bought one. Over the years I've owned Savage's, Ruger Precision Rifle, POF AR-10, etc. but they just never scratched the itch. I did the math and figured that I could have probably bought two AI's with...

LRF Wars. Is it really that bad?

I have the Sig Kilo 2200MR. It's very light and compact and will consistently range trees, grass, and hillsides to about 1300-1400 yards - beyond that you really need a more reflective target to get readings. That being said, assuming you do have a reflective target (buildings/vehicles) I have...

Gunsmithing GI Bill Eligible Machinist Classes?

Doesn't even need to be a gunsmith or gun shop. General machining carries all the same principles.

Gunsmithing GI Bill Eligible Machinist Classes?

No offense but machining is 90% hands on experience, 10% book knowledge. I doubt there even is online machining courses for that very reason. CNC classes would be better than nothing though.

SUPER light AR-15 for vehicle carry???

Palmetto State Armory is the way to go for inexpensive, reliable AR's. I have about $800 into this, but a good chunk of that was the optic, DD irons, and Surefire 3-prong. Put on some cheap MBUS sights and a birdcage and you can save a couple hundred dollars right there. This rifle will shoot...

    Any Lock Pickers Here?

I paid a locksmith $80 to open up a storage unit that I had lost the key for. He gets out of his truck with one of these and about 20 seconds later I was in the unit. I could have bought three for the price I paid him... *facepalm*

Best ruck to carry 50lbs in 5-10,000 elevation

Like mentioned Kuiu, Kifaru, Mystery Ranch, Eberlestock are all good to go. Kuiu wins in the lightweight department though.

    Altitude Effects

Correct - that's the simple and free method, and I highly recommend it, but will not be as precise as getting the actual density altitude for your specific conditions. Fgcook: You'll have to decide if it worth it to use actual condition values, or just get close using theoretical values. If...

    Altitude Effects

What they said...get a Kestrel that will give you Density Altitude data, and an app (like Strelok, Applied Ballistics, etc) and it will give you the information you need for varying elevations.

What's a good inexpensive backpack for hunting?

Keep an eye out on all the various forums and get something used. I have bought various high end tactical and hunting backpacks used for right in your price range.

Sidearms & Scatterguns First pistol ever, which one??

It's hard to go wrong with any $500+ modern handgun. Get whichever one feels best to you, and if you have a range nearby that offers rentals it may be worth the $50 or whatever to shoot the ones that top your list, and help you firm up that decision. I'll probably get boo'd out of the room for...

    Good Pranks

For a more benign office prank - lower their office chair all the way down, and then put vacuum grease or something equally sticky on the handle.

    Lefty shooting right handed rifle.

I'm a lefty and have shot plenty of right handed bolt guns. It can be done effectively, but I really do prefer a left handed bolt so I don't have to break position to cycle the bolt. If you shoot a long action, the bolt will hit your face if you don't break your cheek weld.

Range Report American Gunner 6.5 creed

My AI AT likes it a lot. Shoots about 0.3-0.5 MOA groups. For my batch the SD wasn't great and groups kind of fell apart at 1000 yards. At shorter ranges though where the SD wasn't as critical it was hammering. Like some of you mentioned, I wouldn't use it for a match, but for general shooting...
