    Safran/ Vectronix Terrapin-X *** Update***

I'm afraid my wallet will keep me in this category, but I think it's great that Vectronix appears to be bringing a more broadly marketed LRF to us plebeians...

    Safran/ Vectronix Terrapin-X *** Update***

Thanks, I second that LRF-binos come up a bit weak in the mid-weight category, but my Leicas have done OK up to 100yds at a decent range with clean metal targets. Contemplating a move to NM before too long and with some of the distances there, I definitely will be taking a hard look at one of...

RRS vs something 1/4 the cost

Did this in the service as did many others with a saddle directly threaded on the base of a Manfrotto 055 (or similar), you just "muscle" it on target after the above said adjustments and lean in, hard. Also, as mentioned above, put two tripod legs out in front and you'll have much more support...

    Safran/ Vectronix Terrapin-X *** Update***

Thanks for this, this is exactly where I'm at a cross-roads and the above mentioned bino's weakness is the internal LRF and display. I'm also aware of the fatigue that may come with observing through a monocular and the decreased FOV for scanning large areas compared to binos.

    Safran/ Vectronix Terrapin-X *** Update***

Not to stray too far from the topic of this potentially badass LRF, but would the capabilities of this including the 8x optics outweigh the benefits provided by a decent pair of binos with a LRF built-in (say Leicas, 10x older ones in my case)...? I might add that I have a Kestrel 5700 Elite, so...

Rifle Scopes Level for S&B in a Spuhr

^^^This, I shoot with both eyes open so the AF level was like a breath of fresh air, I'm shooting with a SP-4011 and a GenII Razor, so not being able to help you with measurement actuals aside, that setup is one of the lower unimount rigs and seeing the Spuhr level wasn't happening. Perhaps in...

Rifle Scopes 1 piece scope mount: Larue or mpa for vortex razor gen2 4.5-27x56

Don't know if this helps directly, but I'm running a Spuhr SP-4011 on an AIAT (with the lower top factory rail, for those not running NV) and the Razor, very low as far as unimounts go and may not work for everyone, a setup I can recommend, however.

Atlas Bipod issue-wish I had known!

One last observation that may clean things up is simply forward-loading the bipod as you should be prior to making a good shot, might that take up the "slop" and lock up the wobble in use? I'm fairly certain the BT10 will handle the intended loading while extended, even though I think I get what...

Atlas Bipod issue-wish I had known!

Huh and I thought the only thing not to like about the BT10 was the fact that the legs can spin... The PSR (tall) is a solid choice, but it sounds like at this point you might be Atlas-averse. There's this that I've heard great things about: https://www.eliteiron.com/product/revolution-bipod/...

    Fieldcraft Field/Tactical/Combat Pant

I have Cyre's G2 Field stuff in a couple colors, I dont' think they're too over the top and they hold up as well as any issued BDUs I've ever worn. Not sure if it matters to the OP, but Crye's the best option I could find for the tall folks, I have a 36"+ inseam and they can even go longer...

    Suppressors Thunderbeast thread style ?

I am not, I haven't been told to, but that doesn't sound like a bad idea. For an average range day 50-100 rounds, I don't necessarily think it's needed, however. I've heard from many folks as @tbone40x said, just have something in the range bag to give it a good wrap about the threads and it...

    Suppressors Thunderbeast thread style ?

After a weekend of shooting in NM, I may have racked up around 250+ M118LR on an Ultra 9 and it required tough love from a hard rubber mallet and then using my field belt as a strap wrench, still fought back! The brake was filthy as well, of course, but after the off, cleaning, then back on, I...

    Suppressors Thunderbeast thread style ?

That sounds about 1 month or more faster than the average from when I was waiting. I had 2 x form 4s in for a trust right before the 41F deadline and given that I wasn't the only one jamming up the ATF at the time, 13 months almost on the dot I was picking up my cans.

    Replace AICS Spigot with Rail

Totally reasonable approach, I'd do the 2) option from your follow-on post then as I am running the 8.8" HRD rail on my AT. Thanks again for answering all my questions as they kept coming! EDIT: Just realized, this would almost be like having a 5-H bipod on a spigot with the added benefit of...

    Replace AICS Spigot with Rail

Only for ELR, I will put it all the way forward on the Big Dog and leave it, think PRS or maybe F-Class. Otherwise I completely agree with you and the bipod stays on the rail under the stock for access/speed.

    Replace AICS Spigot with Rail

Understood and perhaps you're right, the AS might be the way I want to go. Just not certain due to the fact that the rail on that version takes the bipod contact out of the plane of the bottom of the stock, but it does bring it closer to the bore, which is a good thing I suppose... Curious, in...

    Replace AICS Spigot with Rail

I weighed my BDS spigot at ~9.2oz (making the delta ~7oz from your pic version, more if his scale's better!) and I put my Atlas PSR as far forward as possible when shooting way out. Do you think you could push the pic version a little farther forward?

    Replace AICS Spigot with Rail

I'm happy to get that data for you and thanks for the costing info. Exactly how far does the pic rail extend forward?

    Replace AICS Spigot with Rail

Oh it's substantial and you may be undershooting the delta, I'll bring it into work and weigh it, perhaps tomorrow... I'm interested in the pic model actually, but would need to know the cost prior.
