    Welcome! I lived on Oahu for 6 years before moving to eastern Oregon. Got to say, still miss it out there, but there are a lot of advantages to living on the mainland. Having an 1100 yard range 15 mins from my place and only $30 a year is a huge perk for a gun nut like myself though!

    While I’m still just beginning to play with the G4, I’d agree initial impression is that the G3 non-ilum was a good balance of thickness. The floating dot on the G4 is small at 21x, but I think I’ll grow into it. Time will tell.

    You know I always thought I was pretty decent at searching the web and finding hard to get items, but you proved me wrong. They are in stock in low and 34mm. Well, I hope these APA rings are worth the extra $50! Damn.

    You’re right! I did a quick search but I was looking for the .92” height. I’m sure the 1.0 would have worked fine though. I’m not too upset, I think the APA rings I just ordered will work! Just a little more $ over the Seekins.

    The more I look at the area419 system, the more I see how versatile it is. Emailed them and they said it would be just a few ounces heavier than the Direct thread option. Might have to send my can in to have it turned from a 5/8 direct mount to the cb thread.

    The only thing I dislike about the 419 system is that the DT UL7 weighs around 11.5 oz in a Gen 1. So 11.5, plus like 8 oz for the 419 mount if I’m reading that correctly. If you go CB, it cuts the cans weight to 9.7 oz, but then you have to add the weight of the CB brake. What does a .30 cal CB...

    Just watched the video. So $90 gets you the 5/8x24 adapter, and then it’s just a matter of buying universal adapters in 9/16, correct? Seems like a solid option. Better mounting than chopping a little off my barrel and just sticking with 5/8?
