    6.5?'s

The 6.5 as far as I can tell shoot very well. Don't have one yet. The old one and the one I know the least about is the 6.5X55 swede. How does it compare to the rest of the 6.5x47, 6.5 creedmore, 260, 6.5 SAUM ect? Looking around the brass seams cheaper then all the rest by $20 bills. Has anyone...

    6.5 Grendel v .300 Blackout

I don't think the Grendel will ever have a place in the market for the ammo manufactures to continue to make ammo for this caliber. It will go to the wayside like Winchester .351 a good gun but other more popular calibers will take its place. If you want LR in an AR get a 260. Rich L

Rifle Scopes SCHMIDT & BENDER 5-25x56mm?

With the listings on this web forum I have to wonder if a number of dealers dump there demo stock of S&B 5-25X56 scopes hear? I would think a dealer pays less then 3K for one of these beautiful baby's. If you were go to the the optics section right now you would see around 4-6 of them listed for...

Yes, Remington 700 SA. Brownells firing pin assembly did the same thing as the Tubb's firing pin and spring setup.:(

    Timmey Trigger 501t

Well I might have got the answer for my own question. Just after posting this question I went to David Tubb's web sight. It now says in parentheses that the speedlock system can not be used with a Timmy trigger. I don't think it said that when I bought the item. I do happen to have a Brownells...

    Range Report 308 Win, 208 AMax, RL17

I got a bit different results I tried Hornady match .308 208gr BTHP. Remington 700 SA .308, 28"/w can, 1-8 barrel. Elevation: 4480 ft, BP: 25.05, Temperature: 85 deg/F. I saw pressure signs at 44.5g and stopped after 4 shoots. The following data was collected with my Magnetospeed V2...

    Timmey Trigger 501t

Completed my Remington SA 700 .308 build with a Tubb precision speedlock firing pin/spring and a Timmy 510 in a AI 1.5 stock last December. Have had a few issues with the trigger. When set at 1.5-2 lbs will drop the hammer when closing the bolt sometimes. So, I have had to set the trigger pull...

    185 Juggernaut velocity in a 16" 308?

I'm shooting a bolt 700 SA .308 with a 26" twist rate 1:8 barrel using RL-17, 47.6 grains and shooting 2700+ with the VLD 185g. I would not try this load in a AR platform gun but I would try starting load development at 43 grains RL-17 and working up from there. This power and bullet has...

22" barrel too short to make the .30-06 the "poor man's .300 Win Mag"

I think the power was RL-17. I have been using RL-17. In my 26" barreled .308 and shooting heavy bullets (185g VLD, 2700+ fps) with great success. I'm going out today to try some 208g Hornady's and see what they shoot like. I started my load development at 43g of powder and worked up tell I saw...

How hard is it really to be accurate at 300-400 yards with an ar 15

A mil-grade barrel or better. Performance factory load or good hand loads will shoot to 500 yards easily. Wind will give you the most problems with AR 15 type rifles with 55-62 grain bullets a 10 mpg wind at 500 yards it will move your bullet as much as 40" depending on your bullet speed. With...

    Subaru owners on the hide?

Love my 2010 outback. Bought it with a hitch and tow my drift boat around and get over 25+ mpg. My truck (2006 Dodge 1500 4x4 Heme) is lucky to get 18 mpg with no load. I bought this car new and have 118K with no brake downs.:D
