Range Report Frustrating Ballistics Solution Problem

I didn't shoot any of my other guns but there was a shooter next to me shooting the same bullet and he didn't have any problems out of either of his rifles. he said he calibrated the BC to 0.351 which is what hornady advertises so I assume he wasn't having the same issue.

Range Report Frustrating Ballistics Solution Problem

I was using the Applied ballistics app automatic weather feature (I know thats not perfect but my kestrel batteries were dead and it didn't change the solution from standard atmosphere anyway). Elevation was around 600ft. I confirmed my zero before I went to the range and when I came home I...

Range Report Frustrating Ballistics Solution Problem

I've used Ballistic, JBMBallistics, Bullet Flight, Applied ballistics, and Sterlok.. all at 3.6-3.7mils....Its acting like an input error but I have no idea what it could be.

Range Report Frustrating Ballistics Solution Problem

0.351 G7 BC 2758 fps 1.91" scope height 100yd zero I didn't populate any of the atmospheric data, the zero and shooting day conditions were very similar tho and any small errors due to pressure or temp wouldn't add up to 0.5mils. I believe it was 85 deg and 30.08 inHG

Range Report Frustrating Ballistics Solution Problem

I'm shooting the new hornady 147gr ELDM in my rifle and the first time I shot the load I was consistently low 0.5mil at 4-600 yds from what my ballistics calculators told me. I've verified my zero, calibrated my scope turret correction factor (SWFA SS 3-15 FFP), chronographed my loads at 2758fps...

Reloading 101: Reloading basics for the new reload

doc, you may have answered this already but what is your reasoning for not using bushing dies? I use the redding type s bushing dies and they seem to give good concentricity but can be a little annoying to set up. They are definitely better that my old rcbs dies but if there is a better way to...

    Ladder test interpretation 260

Graham, what are some good "established" loads for the 140 gr vld...I'm having trouble working up a load, I'm starting at the rifling (2.910" C.O.L) with a 2.845" internal mag box so right off the start I'll have to either load super short or get an extended box. Also, at 2.910" my max load...

    Rifle Scopes Measuring Optical Clarity

Focus could be an issue, I've always had a terrible time adjusting parallax. I can never seem to get the reticle and target perfectly focused and when I think I have it the next time I shoot it looks terrible and I have to start all over again.

    Rifle Scopes Measuring Optical Clarity

How do you judge differences in optical clarity between scopes? I've spent countless hours reading opinions on scope glass quality and selection and I can't tell the difference in a $300 scope and a $1500 scope. I have 3 scopes at home I tried to compare side by side: Millett TRS-1 4x16x50...

Norma 260 Brass Problem - Need Help

I've measured 0.0115"-0.0135" in just a couple cases on the RCBS casemaster. I know it's not super accurate but 0.002" in one case sucks.

Norma 260 Brass Problem - Need Help

I mean too short relative to the advertised specification of the case. I can't imagine a few thousands will hurt anything as long as it's uniform over all cases but I've never had a problem with cases being shorter than the reloading manual reports and I always just trim 0.010" shorter than that...

Norma 260 Brass Problem - Need Help

I just got 200 new Norma 260 rem cases and upon measuring them I noticed they are shorter than thy should be. I measured several random cases (overall length) and got 2.018"-2.021" with the specified max overall length being 2.035". Even after trimming 0.010" they're still 0.007" or more short...

Any reviews of TiborasaurusRex's YouTube Vids?

I've found these videos to be extremely informative and fun to watch, intros are a bit redundant but not a huge deal for free information of this caliber - no pun intended. I'm not sure what Rex's background is in mathematics or science but it refreshing to see someone that understands and can...

    1000 Yard Setup

mnhunter, 6.5-7mm calibers will offer the best ballistic performance at longe range. 260 is just a 308 necked down accept 6.5mm bullets and is far superior to the 308 due to its long, aerodynamic shape and low recoil. Read this article: The Case for .260 Remington: A Better Cartridge For...
