    Have you though about a lever gun? Not as easy to hide as some of the others that have been mentioned, but if you’re using it for travel I’m pretty sure a 30-30 lever gun is 50 state legal and with a 16 inch barrel pretty handy.

    I’ve found that if you’re going to add a M16 style extractor to a 700 it’s best to add a second ejector. LRI does it for a very reasonable price.

    Just buy quality ceramic plates. Steel plates are not worth it. There is a reasons that people that wear hard armor plates for a living use ceramic and not steel.
