    Unable to bump shoulder

Re: Unable to bump shoulder The brass could be work hardened and springing back too much. Try annealing. How many times has the brass been shot?

    reloading in the cold

Re: reloading in the cold When all is said and done, volume is a more consistent measure for powder. Older powder will dry out and give higher velocities than fresh powder with equal weight but will remain the same with equal volume. This could explain a lot of so called variances between...

    noob neck sizing question

Re: noob neck sizing question Use the Sinclair Chamber Length Gauge to determine the actual length of your chamber (which is usually quite a bit longer than the SAAMI specs) and monitor your case length until they get close to that measurement then trim to about .005 shorter. Setting the...

Bolt does not stay open after last round

Re: Bolt does not stay open after last round One more suggestion. I had the same problem a couple weeks ago. Mag worked in every gun except the newest build and we just installed a lighter bolt catch spring, worked like a charm.

Sidearms & Scatterguns Taurus 1911 compared to others?

Re: Taurus 1911 compared to others? A buddy of mine had one and the saftey/slide stop plunger spring was missing. I found aspring and plungers in my spare parts only to find that Taurus had used a plunger tube that was out of spec and the standard 1911 spring and plungers wouldn't fit.

Anyone have a shaw tube on their AR?

Re: Anyone have a shaw tube on their AR? Yeah, we worked up some loads for a Shaw 24" SS bull 8 twist this past sunday. Was surprised at how well it shot given some of the reviews I've read. My buddy got it from Model 1 sales as a complete upper for around $560.

Hanging steel targets... need some input

Re: Hanging steel targets... need some input For shooting at closer ranges this target is ideal because bullet splater is directed downward due to the target angle. The target is reactive so it is possible to get instant feedback on the location of the hit. All the hanging hardware is...

MIxing lots of .308 Lapua brass?

Re: MIxing lots of .308 Lapua brass? I keep mine in lots of 100 rounds and keep track of how many times they're fired. Brass will work harden and affect bullet tension which will show up on a target.

Anyone able to tell me what could cause this?

Re: Anyone able to tell me what could cause this? Are you loading from the mag? If the chamber is not chamfered the resulting damage might add to the hard chambering. Try loading into the chamber by hand and see if the scrape marks are still there.

Sidearms & Scatterguns Double Stack 1911

Re: Double Stack 1911 One thing I haven't seen discussed is the fact that all autoloaders regardless of who built them or how new or old they are will require a serious function test before deploying in the field. Being autoloaders they are subject to all sorts of problems that crop up...

    Suppressors Alright IPSC guys,

Re: Alright IPSC guys, The reload was well over 2 seconds and a good place to shave some time as was the draw. Good double taps on the paper judging by the hits. The splits on the steel were around .45 sec. and you need to get them down to around .25 to get past A class.
