    I won't comment on whether long range hunting is a viable prepping strategy, but for SHTF, you want a kestrel. The app's rely on cell service to gather environmental data, except for the ballistic ARC, but it still relies on your iphone.

    This sounds odd. I use these rings on 3 or 4 rifles and never a problem. How do you know they rotated? If you suspect your scope is moving in the rings, paint a witness mark on the scope caps and scope to see if anything has moved after a shooting session.

    Anything sold in last few years from authorized dealers should have updated turrets. You can tell by Steiner logo marked on new turrets. Old turrets don't have the logo.

    I don't know what the ID threads of the TL3 should be, but the action being out of spec is extremely improbable. 1.055 is the diameter of a small shank savage, I would think you have enough bite on your threads. But I'm not an expert, hopefully one will chime in.
