    The Cronus is on my short list for a new scope this spring, glad to hear so many good things. Not a deal breaker but I hope they add the locking windage turret in 2019. Guess we will see what happens at SHOT this year.

    Not quite correct, 1 MOA equals 1.047". 1" at 100yds is often referred to as "shooter moa" and is often found in cheaper scopes. The Ares will be true MOA. David beat me too it. It can get confusing when a scope is adjusting in true MOA but the mfg puts .25" @ 100 on the turret. Fortunately...

    FFP vs SFP has less to do with distance and more to do with intended use and shooting style. Do you typically shoot on max power at these distances or do you prefer to dial it down a bit? Do you dial for wind or just hold off? If you prefer to shoot at 25x all the time and dial for wind then...

    Price for me too. I really like the look of the JAE-700 but given all the excellent choices we have today $1900 is hard to justify.

    I agree, 1-6 or 1-8 would be perfect for this application. I don’t know your budget, but I have been very impressed with the Burris RT-6. IMO it is one of the best in its price range.

    Used Nightforce SHV 3-10 would be another good one depending on how much magnification you desire. Should be able to get one under $700 and would meet all of your criteria.

    +1 We live in an age where there are numerous talented gunsmiths, but I must say my LRI barreled action is nothing short of perfection. If you are looking for a re-barrel than I would strongly suggest you check out the LRI sniper's hide group buy.
