Maggie’s Funny & awesome pics, vids and memes thread (work safe, no nudity)

Did the meaning of that term change? It mighta, it has been a long time since I got to be the asshat that dramatically waved at some non-shooting dumbass with ol maggie's drawers...

    AR 10 8.6 Blackout builds

45-90, with as much ax as you have ground on the Faxon barrel thing, I'm amazed you have any more ax left... To the OP, when you eventually decide to go a different route on the rail, White Oak makes a 2" inner diameter rail that is perfect for nesting a 338 can - I've run a few large bore AR...

Top Tier Scope for 6.4# .300 PRC

I have a 300 WM that does the same task for me and it wears a ZCO420 which I very much like. It barely busts your weight limit, but is relatively compact, so doesn't move the weight forward and screw up balance. On the March, I don't run that one but do have the 1.5-15 and it is great, but not...

    Suppressor change POI?

You are asking us to read tea leaves. I don't have any experience with that can, but do with lots and lots of others. My first question would be why in the hillbilly fuck would you shoot a gun unsuppressed ever again? The answer is mostly rhetorical. Often cans will result in a reproducible...

Maggie’s Funny & awesome pics, vids and memes thread (work safe, no nudity)

Ask her if she can point them out, tell her "asking for a friend". I would inquire about options for match grade or personal defense, but that might make family reunions a bit more awkward. For you.

6.5 Grendel Barrels selection (late) 2023?

I am of the opinion that 14.5 is about perfect for all-around AR; and, in that context, a pinned and welded 14.5 that runs a suppressor host brake is the best of all options. I generally hate pinned and welded, but love it on a 14.5, because it means I can efficiently run my can and don’t have...

6.5 Grendel Barrels selection (late) 2023?

Counterpoint: if you have already SBRed a lower, a 10.5-12 with a can is titties for intermediate shots that you want to hit with more authority than a 223/5.56. I have an 18” longer range rifle and a 10.5” for <300 and the 10.5 spends lots more time afield. Add to that, it is foldable/packable...

    Maggie’s Motivational Pic Thread v2.0 - - New Rules - See Post #1

This makes me happy. When society finally breaks down for good, these people will feed the zombies or the aliens through at least the first nuclear winter. Always adjust your point of impact with a dremel or similar tool, because fuck simple... life is complicated.

Spotters Anyone Use Quick Detach Adapters for Their Spotters On Their Tripods?

I use those on everything, spotters, a pic rail adapter, big dSLR, they are hella quick and - with some loctite - don't work loose.

    Looking for budget friendly glass

I am a huge Tikka fan, I've built a few customs on Tikka actions. Their barrels are usually quite good, and basic rifle function is much better than the price tag would otherwise indicate.

    Looking for budget friendly glass

I skimmed this and would make a few counter-suggestions, because diversity is our strength. 1. If SWFA is still a thing, I would strongly recommend the old school fixed 10X, I still recommend it to new shooters because it is all but bomb-proof, and it takes away lots of the complicating...

    Woox Stocks

They look cool but lack the flexibility of other chassis systems. If what you want is wood feel/look in a chassis, this is a good option. If you want adaptability, not so much...

Anyone have any idea what happened to Hensoldt?

Mine was SFP, perfect for hunting, when longer shots usually allow more time. The 3-12 SFP is an awesome hunting scope, for being almost 20 years old…

Anyone have any idea what happened to Hensoldt?

Dearest ILya, You shut your mouth... I think it might have been my 3-12 you tested in the long-long-ago... and I still love that scope. For a hunting rifle, it is awesome, easiest scope I have to get behind, low light performance is great, and I don't need a complex reticle - I been...

    Bolt action 8.6 blk.....

Not with that attitude it won't... I once told a guy that the first 50-cal round through his 338 can would make it a 50-cal can, he was not amused. But I mostly just try to amuse myself these days...

    Bolt action 8.6 blk.....

I too have had success with my faxon 16", though mine is subs exclusively so far. It sounds like Faxon made some junk out of the gates, but hit their stride later on., Unlike the 300BO (which, in a bolt gun, can extract and fail to eject without lots of work to fix that problem - at least with...

Serious question, no flame war needed or wanted

So, a friend is talking to what I have been told is a serious outfit about buying a custom gasser topped with... wait for it... a Valdata scope. I've been around a while, I bought the first gen SH 3-18 (and it failed), and have owned at least 10 IORs (none any longer) so I am not a newcomer...

NXS 2.5-10 on a long action?

Look at 6+ years ago reviews (when I got mine) and you will find some mention of it. Other options: vortex light hunter 3-15, SWFA 3-9 if you can find one and don’t need illumination. What do you like about the NXS? With that, I can make some recommendations. Mine plays backup to my March...

NXS 2.5-10 on a long action?

As for the scope, is titties. There is some optical distortion on mine at 10X, but it isn't terrible - I only notice it when I stay on scope for an extended time. Otherwise, it is a great all-around scope.

Measure the base to base gap and I can let you know on the tube.
