    Tikka T3 .308 Win reloading

    If your goal is 1000 yards, you should consider switching to the 155 grain and 175 grain SMKs. The 168's get a little squirrely after ~ 600 yards. Not an issue with your rifle, but more the design of the bullet.

    I've been happy with my Tikka T3 in .30-06. That thing is < 7lbs, and tops out a bit over 9lbs when fully dressed. I agree with what was said above...hike 12+ miles a day through deadfall at 10,000+ ft, and you will have everything made perfectly clear to you :-)

    I did check out that GPSFileDepot...there are some pretty cool maps there. I did snag a topo that definitely is better than the stock Garmin one. I found it funny that for some of the GMU maps, they linked you out to the Hunting GPS Maps site!

    Rifle Scopes SWFA rings any good?

    I've been using them on my .22LR CZ455 and they work just fine for that application. If using for a bigger stick there may be an increased chance of issues. No experience with that, just a possible outcome.
