I received my copy yesterday... good stuff and falls right in with his books.

Received mine as well, but haven't had a chance to take a look. Just got home from the state fair.

Just got my copy today. I only watched about 45 mins of the first disc, but liking the presentation and content thus far. Right in stride with his books, and seems to help bring the concepts to life. I'm a visual learner, so that is helpful to me. I'm very interested in working through the rest. Looks very professional, and I felt the price was not prohibitive. Has a bonus disc as well, which looks fun to watch

I don't have any of Bryan's books (not much of a reader) but was impressed so far with the DVD. I've veiwed all of disc 1 and am probably a 1/3 of the way through disc 2. The content is very "meat and potatoes" with out crazy graphics, music, etc... Just right for a grumpy old guy like me that's just a few years into this game. So far, well worth my money. Seems like a very bright young man.

I've got both. I'll let you know once I'm done with Bryon's. I am always hesitant to say this "thing" is better than that "thing" when it comes to instructional type stuff. I've approached long range precision shooting no different than pistol shooting, flying airplanes, etc... Always try and learn/pick up bits and pieces from everyone that taught. Just my .02

So far I have found that these DVD's are great! They cover some of the same areas his books cover, but often are presented with additional data, or with examples. I really like using the DVD's as well as the books. I wish they had put in chapter stops -so you can move to a chapter instead of having the scroll through the entire DVD. I also wish there was more Demo'ing, and less time talking in front of the big white screen. I just want some variety (the first Disk did this better than the 2nd).

Finally - this material is really about external ballistics, and dovetails with his books really well. Its not an instructional video on shooting positions - more like how to understand WHY you do the things you do when you shoot. From this perspective, I haven't seen another DVD that covers the same information. Again, these are more the WHY, while something like the SH online training covers the HOW.

IMO, There is no comparison between this DVD and the Magpul DVD. Bryan talks pure external ballistics with a few example segments where you witness some shots on the range to demonstrate how it is done. With that said, Here is a tip for anyone filming a DVD or other product that you plan on selling to the public. Don't film large segments where you plan on talking/speaking on a range while others are using it. There are portions of the DVD where Bryan isn't doing a shooting demo and sits on the ground on the range explaining a point and the gun fire from neighboring ranges is a tad distracting. I know it sounds like knit picking but given the obvious time and effort that was put into making the DVD, this should have been a no brainer.

I will second the comment about Bryan standing in front of the white board for large segments of the DVD. It worked when he had something flashed up there for a moment but most of the time he was standing next to a white board. It is obvious that he is following a presentation on his computer to drive the speaking. So why not just show the slide show on the white screen beside him is what I was wondering?

Don't take any of this as a negative criticism, these are just personal observations of what is otherwise a very information packed set of DVDs.

IMO, for use as a reference in building your own blocks of instruction, yes, as most of Bryan's explanations are straight forward and worded in a way thats relatively easy to grasp.

This is more of a why your bullet does what it does once it leave the confines of your rifle, than a this is how to become one with and shoot your rifle. There is a segment on scope setup but the rest is more about “putting rounds on target” the external ballistics side of the game.

Product brand and pushing those products on the viewing audience play no role in “Putting rounds on target” like they do in the horus/larue infomercial. But all of them, including Snipershide’s “Day One” and Rifles Only’s Precision Rifle series have valuable information on shooting and hitting what your aiming at.
