So is THIS what yall ment by Remington quality now days? HELP

Make sure your magazine box has some wiggle room, after all is torqued down. If it doesn't, then it's binding. Then try this; Partial length resize the brass, stopping 0.050"-0.075" short of full length resize. When chambered, this will help to align the bullet with the bore. If the...

    Media portrayal of police brutality

Any encounters I have with pigs, they're just pricks. Wonder what their demeanor will be after the war starts.

    Jewell triggers are pussies

I found that having the overtravel set to short can cause failure to fire in freezing temps. I don't like the feel of the trigger, and the safety releases too easily for field use. Had decided to return to rems.

Length of Pull How important is it. Mine is 15 7/8" and I cannot find a stock

When I started setting up my precision rig, I figured it would be much different than my trap guns. Guess what? To my surprise, the end formulation of my set up was EXACTLY like my trap guns. Standing, sitting, prone. Don't mean to burst your bubbles. Or bust your balls. But true stock...

Length of Pull How important is it. Mine is 15 7/8" and I cannot find a stock

I shoot registered trap, and know that stock fit is extremely important. Probably most important. Some short stock rifles are problematic for me. I have the spacer system on my main rifle, but will upgrade to the fully adjustable butt soon. This will be adjustable for length, horizontal...

Gunsmithing Anyone make a quality T10 torx bit?

I like square head bits. Problem is, not enough square head fasteners. Recreational vehicle manufacturers use them extensively.

Why did Marines go from M70 Win to M700 Rem?

Mine does. I can't speak for all Mausers, but my 1937 WW2 North African capture definitely has a bevel sufficient enough for snap over. I imagine the bevel is more for fitting the corresponding bevel in the brass case, and for ejection. Nonetheless, it snaps over.

Why did Marines go from M70 Win to M700 Rem?

In a pinch, the Mauser claw can be made to pop over the rim of a chambered round by squeezing the middle of the extractor inward toward the bolt while cycling the bolt at the beginning of the closing ramp.

    Case head seperation?

I would check the chamber to ensure that there is no corresponding flaw engraved in the same area. Also, check to make sure you are not seating into the rifling.

Gunsmithing Feed issue on 98 Mauser

We are talking about the x57 case of the Mauser. Increasing the diameter of the bullet reduces the shoulder. The belted round magnums provide a positive stop, but for accuracy, most peeps will headspace on the shoulder, same as the bottleneck cartridge.

Gunsmithing Lathe problem, anyone have a similar issue?

Also, some peeps will run their machines for a period, to warm things up, before measuring and doing precision work. Under load, the bearings will have a wedge of oil they are running on.
