    Virgin brass prep?

    All I do to brand new Lapua brass is chamfer the case mouth a bit and run it through my expander mandrel in station one before seating a bullet in station 3 to equalize neck tension.

    How often to anneal

    I also anneal every firing but I have a Benchsource annealer. I kind of look at it like either you do it every time for the most consistent neck tension or you do it every 4-6 firings just to extend the life of your brass.

    Primer pocket uniforming Q

    I only uniform the primer pockets the first time and then after that just clean them out. Seems like a ton of extra work doing it every firing.. not sure about pocket life by doing it that way.

    6.5 creedmoor and varget

    I'm using Varget in my 6.5 Creedmoor AR-10 but I'm using it with the 123gr AMAX and I'm getting good results. I wouldn't use it with the heavier bullets but it does work well with the lighter bullets.

    Vertical stringing. What causes it?

    An SD of 15.7 is pretty high for 1000 yard shooting. If you know that everything on the rifle is good, I'd say that your vertical stringing is coming from variations in velocity.

    What exactly are you hoping to gain by running a bullet jammed into the lands? The first time you have a round in the chamber and have to clear it for a cease fire or some other reason and the bullet gets pulled out of the case when you cycle the bolt back, you'll have a real mess on your hands...

    I felt the same way but then I tried them out and cut my SD/ES in half. Maybe I just got lucky and that combination worked but I was unable to find 205/205M/205MAR in stock and I had tried the Remington 7 1/2 and Winchester SR with no luck. They are rather expensive but I always try to buy them...
