Rifle Scopes High End Tactical, Part IV: The Heavyweights

Hey Ilya, were you able to get your hands on another Kahles to update the review? I'm torn between a Kahles k624i and the Steiner - both can be had with MSR for under $3k, which is pretty compelling. Thanks for the reviews - I've read all your scope reviews and am working through the bino ones.

Rifle Scopes Kahles K624i vs Steiner 5-25x56 MSR

Its weird - lots of people love the Kahles, but there are a few who keep complaining of CA and parallax problems. Ilya seemed to run into it too when he reviewed this scope (High End Tactical Scopes, Part IV: The Heavyweights » OpticsThoughts), but even he seems to like Kahles overall, so I am...

Rifle Scopes Kahles K624i vs Steiner 5-25x56 MSR

I'm looking for a new scope for my Tikka T3 Sporter in .260 Remington. I've been reading a lot about scopes and it sounds like either the Kahles or the Steiner would fit the bill great for my needs, and they seem very similar overall. Dvor.com has a promotion on the Steiner right now, at $3250...

Newbie looking for adivce for rifle purchase

Just read jake's comment and makes a lot of sense. You can't go wrong with a Tikka T3 Sporter in .223, .308, or .260. But if you're just starting in, .223 might not be a bad choice. Heck, he's almost persuaded me to get one in .223 now. Shamir

Newbie looking for adivce for rifle purchase

I started off in long range shooting with a Savage model 10 FCP-K in .308. Great shooting rifle which held sub-MOA easily and shot way better than I could. I put a Millet 4-16x50 SFP scope on it, with a cheap UTG bipod and rings. I took an introductory long range course from SniperCentral.com...

    Washington Vantage match Feb 8-9

Damnit guys, looks like I won't be able to make this match. Weather is horrible for the drive up from Portland, and pregnant wife at home is sick. Have fun and hopefully there will be another soon that I can make it to.

    TAB Gear Biathlon Sling

Do you know if I can remove the attachments on the regular biathlon sling? I have a sling attachment loop on the side of my Tikka T3 Sporter, but studs on the Savage, so I'd like to take the stud attachment off when I have it on the Tikka. I'm wondering if thats possible.

    SW AMMO UPDATE THREAD

Question on the SW ammo. I'm shooting the .260 remington 123 gr Lapua, which is chronoed at 2900 fps from a 24 inch barrel. Any information on the altitude/pressure/humidity for that speed? I don't have a chronograph and I am trying to get a velocity estimate to build a drop chart. I'm shooting...

    Tikka T3 Picture Thread.

Tikka T3 Sporter .260 Just got a Tikka T3 Sporter in .260 and finished breaking in the barrel. Shoots .5" when I do my part. Eying a Sightron SIII to replace the Millet that I took off my .308 Savage.

    precision rifles... show em

Tikka T3 Sporter .260 and Savage 10 FCP-K in .308 Only have one Millet TRS scope at the moment , but I am eying a Sightron SIII for the Tikka. I've shot the .308 out to 1000 yards, and got my first .5" group with the Tikka last week. Still a newbie to long range shooting.
