    Seekins HAVAK Precision Rifle

That cans are $750+ and take 6 months to a year to get them is a MAJOR turndown. I like them, I want one, but that's money that could be spent on ammo or reloading equipment or better glass. Shot my deer last year behind a 28 Nosler without a suppressor, just brake, and no earplugs. No more deaf...

    Seekins HAVAK Precision Rifle

That's because that's a cabelas special. Basically the same rifle as far as I know, just a dark grey stock and comes with a brake. Can be had cheaper and without sales tax, is pretty much the only reason I didn't go this route. Also not sure if Seekins is having different or less experienced...

    6.5 PRC load data

I really, really like this idea! I never did it because a trip to the range meant an hour drive for me. Not anymore! Now that I'm out in the country this is a 15 minute ordeal. Crazy how much more accurate/tight your group was on the one shot per day method. I guess this is why bench resters...

Rifle Scopes How much to spend on glass

Sometimes you're paying for more than the glass. a Super solid, rugged, accurate, repeatable erector system that tracks at a correction factor of 1.000. Honestly, that's harder to achieve than great, clear glass. My Kahles, IMO, has so-so glass compared to some of the big hitters in the glass...

    Seekins Havak PH1 6.5 PRC

Picked up a hundred rounds of 147 eld-m match ammo. Was just going to continue doing that but I've always had handloads that shoot better, and since this will be primarily a hunting rig I want to use the berger elite hunters. Will just use the Hornady ammo for break in and then reload the brass...

    Seekins Havak PH1 6.5 PRC

Gonna keep my faith in Seekins. Heard nothing but good about their service. I'm pretty handy at shadetree gunsmithing so I'm sure I can work out any bolt or trigger issues.

Rifle Scopes Any Athlon Ares BTR owners out there?

Just saw this post Doug! I'm Nick Radle and just ordered one of your open box Ares BTR's. New Turrets, or old?

Rifle Scopes Any Athlon Ares BTR owners out there?

Not sure if the "AS NEW, open box" Ares I picked up from Doug at Cameraland will have the new style turrets, but $599 for a relatively light scope with HD glass and great warranty is just too hard to pass up. I have owned, and still own top-tier scopes so I'm not expecting too much out of the...

    Seekins Havak PH1 6.5 PRC

Me, too, since I ordered the Seekins version. But I've not read too much positive about accuracy on here. Also about rough bolt cycling considering the price, and that the timney 510 trigger being junk, in that it is rated down to 1.5lbs but nobody has been able to dial it down to that reliably...

    Seekins HAVAK Precision Rifle

If it wasn't for the price and having to pay tax I'd consider it. 15% discount through Seekins and no tax gets it to me for under 1900 in my hands including shipping and ffl fees. Cabelas is about 3 hours for me, or around $45 in fuel cost. So total cost for me would be about $2290. I don't need...

    Seekins HAVAK Precision Rifle

Seekins was running a 15% discount as of yesterday. Did you take advantage of it? I sure did. Got the 6.5prc. Should be a good all around hunting rig.

    28 Nosler barrel 'sped up'

This cartridge has been interesting to me. It's the first time I read discussions of barrels speeding up after 'x' amount of rounds. When I first got the rifle I found an accuracy node pretty quickly of 79.5gr retumbo under 195 bergers on an 'almost' saami spec chamber. Was getting 3050 and...

anybody using imr 7977 for their 28 nosler?

I like Retumbo under Berger 195s in my 28 NOZ. Seems to be a pretty easy powder to find, too.

Gunsmithing Stiller action not ejecting shells??

It's no longer an ejection issue but rather an extraction issue. He removed the ejector pin and now it extracts fine.

Gunsmithing Stiller action not ejecting shells??

Additionally, he said removing the ejector made the brass extract just fine.
