Bench shooting for 100 and 200 yds than prone from 300to 1000 yards. Target shooting...no hunting. Shooting from either a front rest or bipod and rear bag.

Glad you asked about stocks. I love the flat 3 inches wide forend and the flat butt at the end of the stock for smooth gliding on the rear bag. I might use a bipod as well. I am trying to decide for quite some time now if I want a single shot or something with a detachable magazine.

    Action Purchase

No hunting here. Jewel sounds more appropriate. Do they come with the trigger guard or that is another expense?

What trigger would be good and how much they run?

Are they available and what is the lead time on those? Do they come with trigger?

    Action Purchase

I want to build a new rifle. It will be a 260 AI. I have already purchased the barrel (Criterion 28"). Now I want to buy the action. Just finished building a 6mm BR using the Savage target action (LBRP) and the original f-class stock. It shoots and looks great. I could not find anywhere at...

Gunsmithing Muzzle brake for a 260 AI bull barrel

Just got a new Criterion bull barrel in a 260 AI and would like to install a nice/efficient muzzle brake on it. I would like some ideas from my fellow shooting aficionados. Below is a link to the specifications for this barrel. http://www.criterionbarrels.com/savagecontours.pdf

    .260 "replacement" and cases "manufacturing"

Hello Greg, Just saw your message. Well, I guess I decided to move along on "Savage" street and acquire a new platform. I would like to take some time and build a 260AI using a target savage action (at least this is my intention for now). I was contemplating a PAC-NOR 28" 1:8 twist barrel (my...

Can anyone guide me as to where can I find some of the gages in the title. At least the Go gage if nothing else. Thank you

    PAC-NOR Barrel Question

How do they compare overall with other barrels you have experience with? What# did you get?

    PAC-NOR Barrel Question

Does #8 mean heavy bull barrel? Did you have the install a muzzle brake for you? I am thinking getting one.

    PAC-NOR Barrel Question

What contour do you have? I want to get a bull barrel 28" long. What is the difference between their super match and standard match? What is lead time? Thanks

    PAC-NOR Barrel Question

I would like to know what is your experience with the above mentioned barrel. I was doing some research for acquiring a barrel for a .260 AI build and came across PAC-NOR. I read many reviews and it appears people had mostly good things to say. Couple comments claimed they were better for the...

    .260 "replacement" and cases "manufacturing"

Matt, nothing wrong with the Lapua brass (actually I just bought 200 for my new 6 mm BR)...but like any other person who desires to keep the cost down (we like our toys and sometimes spend money we don't have on them) I looked into alleviating some of it by refurbishing what I already have and...

    .260 "replacement" and cases "manufacturing"

Do you anneal before resizing to the new caliber or after? I would assume before.

    .260 "replacement" and cases "manufacturing"

And is a 30" barrel too long or not? NSS only sels the 260AI in a 30" bull. Will I have to compensate with a heavier stock to stabilize the weapon?

    .260 "replacement" and cases "manufacturing"

Will you be so kind as to describe to me the entire process you employed to transform the 243 cases to the 260. I am assuming it would be the same if I will chose the 260AI route. Are the reloading supplies readily available. What powders do best in this caliber? Thaks

    .260 "replacement" and cases "manufacturing"

I appreciate your answer and the ones above.(Leadbullet, LRJammer....). I honeslty do. I do not care about off the shelf ammo...unless the reloading supplies will be exausted. After I posted yesterday I have done more reading and learned about the .260AI. It seems it is a great round and I am...

    .260 "replacement" and cases "manufacturing"

All excellent points. I thought about that route believe me. Can a 260 be build on a Long Action? I wanted to do more shooting at 1k and under ( this is what I have available for now) and wanted to avoid the stronger recoil. I somewhat thought my next rifle, a few years later perhaps, might be a...

    .260 "replacement" and cases "manufacturing"

I want to get from NSS a 28" bull barrel (CBI 8 twist) in a .260 a Savage Target Action – RB/LP - .473 bolt face with trigger guard, and a stock from...(I am open to suggestions...). If I am not mistaken the spacing would be 4.40 correct? What you guys think?
