Do I need a Kestrel Meter?

The 4DOF Kestrel is by far and away the best I've experienced so far.

PRS Talk Divisions - Breaking down the Obvious

Hornady makes fantastic factory ammo. That's all I shoot when I shoot out of a box. However, what is your reasoning on restricting handloads?

PRS Talk Divisions - Breaking down the Obvious

I've seen a lot of great things with factory ammo. However I've also been to Bass pro and and multiple Academys looking and hunting for enough ammo to train and shoot with that belong to the same lot. As much as I believe that Limited Class needs to be easier to enter into, I would hate for a...

PRS Talk Divisions - Breaking down the Obvious

Interesting perspective on this. What makes you want to have factory ammo only? Would you restrict manufacturers like Prime or Copper Creek from loading ammo to spec?

New reloader, will you share your opinion

You see what groups well. Take into consideration cool barrel vs hot, shooting conditions and your environment and load up another 40 to do some practice and hard dope gathering. At that point you'll be able to have the ammo and dope to score whatever game you're looking for.

PRS Talk Divisions - Breaking down the Obvious

I'm trying to get a new guy to go shoot a match and he's reluctant because of all the gear "requirements". New shooter was going to buy a tripod. "Doesn't know what to do". I just told him to get out there with dope and a gamechanger and the more experienced shooters will make sure he gets...

New reloader, will you share your opinion

Me? Load 42.2 and set seat depth to mag length or .20 off the lands and don't mess with it until it starts to shoot poorly. 42.2 with 140 ELD-M are my 6.5 load Assuming you're using a magnetospeed, this device will change your grouping as it modifies barrel harmonics when firing.

PRS Talk Divisions - Breaking down the Obvious

A guy with a "Stock Production" RPR came in 29th at the PRS finale. He absolutely crushed other shooters with much more expensive gear. It's not as much about equipment as people make it to be. Case in point, tripods are a crutch for many folks who cannot get steady on unstable barricades. I see...

PRS Talk Tactical Class - Why?

He's a very focused, dry and professional shooter. To be fair, we had shooters from all over the planet at the finale as well.

    Hornady brass explosion

Smoke a carbon ring? JB bore paste. A little scrubbing cleans up good.

Gunsmithing Gunsmith opinion on Titanium vs Steel action

Interesting. I'd imagine most of these TI actions would be for hunting use as many people I know doing PRS type shooting are adding weight. Am I right?

Got the V3 Autotrickler assembled. Thing is smokin!

    Hornady brass explosion

Absolutely nothing. Weight sort it if you're looking for something special. Brass wears out, shit happens. This even happens to Alpha brass if it gets overworked.

Have a .308, want to push to 1400 yards - go to 6.5cm?

For a match gun, move to a 6mm creed. Plenty of velocity, easy hits to 12+ and Hornady makes fantastic ammo for it. Trying to do that with a 308 is going to be difficult.
