    Any Mountaineers?

Mt Quandary in Colorado. Went up one of the chutes on the north side. Where I am standing was around 10,000 feet and the chute is pretty much coming out of my head. We exited east at the end of the chute, skipping a push to the summit due to our exhaustion.

    Which 22lr rifle

I mean...there is always a good reason to buy a whole other gun down the road...

    Any Mountaineers?

I have definitely made a similar mistake, but we didn’t bring enough food in general. We were about 3,000 vertical up (started at 9500), and that was our last snickers/food. Bonked pretty hard in the chute, but really only had one option to press up to get away from the increasing avalanche...

    Any Mountaineers?

One thing I didn’t see you mention was if you ate anything. I find at altitude I have to force myself to eat more to maintain enough calories in. Altitude also seems to suck moisture out, and staying hydrated is a constant struggle. Lots of little breaks versus huge pushes and longer breaks...

    Shoes????

Though I love Salomon, I have also used La Sportiva a ton for outdoors work/ice climbing. Soles are always grippy, pretty comfortable. The insulated and water proof options have worked well for their given weight.

Finally gave in on Geiselle trigger..

Once you get one...you never go back. Well worth the investment. With all the options of flat/curved/stages you eventually find what works best for you.

LMT vs LWRC vs KAC for AR10

Something to consider if you go with a creedmoor from them is their barrel/gas system is rifle length, not a +2 set up (unless you buy the SP-10m), if that is something you are wanting.

    New from San Diego

Welcome! There is a few of us towards the Inland Empire area that have met up before, so check out that “29 palms” thread if you are good with a medium drive (under 3 hours). I have heard of some stuff down by you too, and hope to make it down your way for some shooting or matches.

    Which 22lr rifle

That is a fair point. Loud bench neighbors can be rough. But it does help if you end up teaching kids or new shooters when you are off at a quiet range because of the lack of noise.

    Suppressors Velocity change w/ suppressor

All my rifles have been consistent (per the rifle), but the shift is different per gun. My old 700, was 1.4 mils, while my AI was 0.3. Velocity so far has all been within my reloading, so I have not experienced a gain above 20fps.

    Which 22lr rifle

I have seen multiple 10/22’s not run match ammo as well. Granted, cold weather doesn’t ever help. But each gun could have been modified uniquely anyways. So thats a crap shoot.

    Atlas vs Harris bipod

I had a Harris previously. I now run an Atlas PRS with a RRS clamp, and swap it between three rifles. Between the mount being so easy to adjust/remove, it has made it simple to own one nicer bipod and swap it around.

    Which 22lr rifle

If you ever plan on suppressing the 22 (highly highly suggested), you can cycle All types (including the CCI quiets) via a bolt, a bit more problematic with the 10/22, as only some subsonic rounds cycle the 10/22 action.

For you guys that are paying to shoot 1K yards..

I don’t want to know how much I pay in taxes every year... This is public land in AK. But I have also shot on public land in NV and CA. When I was in Georgia, Arena did their UKD range, and I want to say it was $40-50 a day, out to 2100 yards.

    Shoes????

Probably saw folks in Solomon’s. Lightweight, grippy, comfy, and come in both obnoxiously bright, and subdued colors. You want a goretex model? They got that. You want lightweight trail running? They have that too. Lots of options, so you can find a shoe/boot that fits your needs.

Snipers Hide Cup Next Week! Sup?

It is because his combine ride up to WA lacks enough signal to broadcast out the stories of Bigfoot chasing him in the aliens space ship. But, I am looking forward to going to the match and all the shenanigans that will ensue.

    Suppressors 6.5MM Suppressor: Which one?

As a Surefire fanboi, I have to say that they are super well built cans, but don’t offer the best sound reduction for their given cost. I trust my surefire to last until I can kill my KAC, and probably a second one, but it isn’t the most quiet can either. And you are correct, the volume that a...

LMT vs LWRC vs KAC for AR10

I’ve only seen one LWRC large frame shooting. I’ve shot a small frame version. Quality guns for sure, but pistons aren’t my jam, so I mostly have bypassed them as an option.

    Elite Iron bipods?

If I’m walking with the gun, or shooting beyond just prone, I don’t think the design warrants the size/weight. If I was shooting magnum at long range prone only, it is a phenomenal bipod because of its stability.

LMT vs LWRC vs KAC for AR10

Within the KAC side, if you want hammer forged barrels, look at the CC line. If you want the fancy stainless precision oriented (along with heavier profiles), look at the PC line. You can get them from 16”-20” rifles and uppers in 308. If you jump to the 6.5 side, your options within KAC are...
