How is everyone liking them these days? Seems like they were all the rage last year now it's like they've fallen off the face of the map, and everyone is back to Atlas. I know there was a podcast recently where someone asked Frank about bipods and the Elite was barely mentioned.

My favorite bipod and provides a very stable platform. Originally bought for use with my 338LM and liked it so much bought adapters for my other rifles. For my 375 build just ordered the 50 cal model.

Hi,

I think it comes down to the actual utilization intentions.

I think people see the Elite Iron as an overkill in design and cost when speaking in regards to a run/gun type bolt action or in regards to a smaller cartridge type firearm.

As to where the Elite Iron really shines is on 338LM and larger class weapon systems. On those heavier weight and recoil systems the Elite Iron has really no competition.

Sincerely,
Theis

Absolutely love them. I have the steel version on an AXMC 300WM and have the Atlas 5H on a MK13 mod7. I do also have Atlas CAL Gen II, Atlas PSR, and Atlas V8. The Atlas CAL Gen II is awesome and I’ll most likely end up with another if I don’t decide to try the TBAC bipod.

For any type of position I can get it in, the Elite Iron Revolution has without a doubt, been the most stable and solid of any bipod I’ve used for any distance out to ELR. For run and gun, I don’t think it’s the correct tool. That’s where the Atlas PSR and CAL really shine. The 5H is a fine piece of kit too and serves its purpose very well but won’t give you the same stability as the E.I. The E.I. is pricey and that may turn a lot of people off but once you use one, you’ll want one. It’s well worth it and I will definitely buy another.

Not sure which podcast you’re talking about, but Frank and Marc rant and rave about the E.I. Revolution.

Good to hear, it was a fairly recent podcast where a user asked specifically for a compare and contrast on the Atlas vs Elite Iron from performance and value but Frank didn't even discuss the Elite Iron just that he's an Atlas and Thunder Beast guy. Since Frank has been so positive on Elite Iron in the past it made me think it might have fallen out of favor for some reason.

Lots of good bipods though so perhaps Frank just didn't want to get into an A -vs- B discussion as he's stated in the podcasts that he doesn't want go down the road of comparing products.

If I’m walking with the gun, or shooting beyond just prone, I don’t think the design warrants the size/weight. If I was shooting magnum at long range prone only, it is a phenomenal bipod because of its stability.

LOL, a couple of things, "everyone" suggests everybody that shoots a rifle, and that means there is not a piece of gear made that 100% of rifle shooters will agree on! Getting 50% on the same side is an accvomplishment that should be recognized with a national holiday!

Regarding the Elite Iron, I suspect the guys that bought and liked the Elite Iron bipod still like the Elite Iron bipod. It's one of a few "new" bipods that the creator actually created, instead of copied other designs, and achieved a useful bipod. It's a solid design that has it's application. Everyone knows this ;)

All true, but it wouldn't be the first, second, or fiftieth product that was all the rage simply because it was the new most expensive toy in its class that later fell out of favor for one reason or another. To be very clear, I'm not saying that applies to the Elite Iron at all, they seem to be a unique design that fills a particular use case very well, just that we see plenty of high end products initially popular for no other reason than are new and expensive that don't stand the test of time.

Every year or so some jackleg with a Youtube channel does a video on Elite Iron and announces it as a new offering of bipod.

Then, the coup de gras, their facial expression when they realize how long EI has been around.

Have two and absolutely love them. The 50 model is STOUT and stays on my DT HTI.

My very first can was an Elite Iron Bravo SD back in 2006 or so. They build very very solid products. Not very lightweight, but built to last.

I bought one and it replaced my ATLAS 5H for shooting my AT from prone.

It is simply the most stable bipod I have ever used. Not so great for PRS but for shooting prone, I don’t behave it has an equal.

Still use ATLAS for PRS events.
