ADM also makes a SR-25 cut lower if you don’t need a matching lower company. Offers a few different options for ambi set up compared to a KAC, like a right side bolt hold open if I am not mistaken. Similar price to an LMT lower and you can get it stripped to build how you want.
Sounds like you are well on your way of the sufferfest of fun. Is that 14.45 on flat or rolling hills? I suck at going up hill, while some other people seem to be powered by them.
Up before the sun. Walk 1-5 miles at designated pace. 5-30 minutes until stage brief the year at Arena. Get your stage brief. Each team rotated through on average 3 minutes per. I think we had 8 teams in our squad. Then 5-15 minutes later walk again.
I think Friday had 4 rucks, Saturday...
I would say it depends on how you plan on carrying the rifle. If your pack carries the rifle well, no need. If you are slinging it for rucks, then absolutely. I had no need for mine since my rifle was so heavy/long it went on the pack for each movement.
I used an Osprey 70 liter pack. I can fit the sleeping bag and clothes in the bottom, leaving the main compartment for food and ammo. Strapped the rifle sideways across the top.
Kept ammo in taped zip lock bags to be smaller and rattle less.
Could have gotten away with a much smaller pack...
You can add fluffy clothes to get away with a lighter sleeping bag. Pick calorie dense food over feeling full. Lots of ways to suffer to save weight.
The suffering is temporary, and is all mental right?
2018 my pack with rifle and all goodies was 55lbs.
An AI with a can comes in around 19.5lbs.
Sleeping set up:
Lafuma 32 degree bag, under 2lbs
Inflatable Thermarest pad
Big Agnes UL2 tent, with aluminum MSR stakes
Food:
Jetboil with titanium 0.8l cup, one fuel can
Mountain house style...
I have emailed Silencerco, and the Hybrid is rated for a 375 Ruger on I want to say an 18” barrel.
Now they didn’t claim hearing safe, but it had crossed my mind to reduce the blast on a bear rifle for being in Alaska. Not as effective as a dedicated 375 can, but another option.
Only way to know for sure is to take it out more! Glad to hear things got straightened out and back to normal. I might do that to my trigger as a precaution with how much moon dust there is out here.
It was great meeting you all. Thanks for also throwing a stick for Petra, she thinks all of you are awesome. Also, camping the night before was nice and relaxing.

I used a set of Nike boots that I also had used for the Army. Light, a bit of ankle support. The tread was worn down, and lost traction a bit in the mud two years ago.
The routes when I did it were following roads, not off-trail excursions.
It’ll be a party. What time are you thinking on the 22nd? I’m about two hours away and am pretty flexible.
I’ll also be bringing the dog, but she just will hang out in the truck when we are going hot (still working on getting her to wear ear pro).
I’ll have to zero some stuff real quick...
