If you have room for one more I’d be coming down from Fort Irwin/Barstow area. I’ve got a 45% IPSC on a t post we can place as close as people need, as well as another 45% that hangs off chains. My AI is up at a friends place that had a side project with it, so I’ll be blasting away with my...

    Mammoth Challenge AAR

Just because you don’t want to do it anymore doesn’t mean you have to shit on others for doing it. You know the team that won it are part of the Army Sniper school, with other teams attending from SF, the USMC Sniper School, and the 82nd? Maybe taking the lessons learned from a “non-DOD” event...

    Mammoth Challenge AAR

As someone that is 5'7", the less I have to carry, the easier my life is. The 16min pace is uncomfortable for me on concrete, much less dirt. Like you said, folks won't understand the fatigue that is accumulated from "just walking". The rifle was used because it was my only rifle that fit the...

New X-Ray Chassis from KRG-now shipping!

I did not see if they are still going off the list of "early notification emails," or are they available for direct order from their site currently? I never got an e-mail, and do not want to jump the gun so to speak. The FDE looks great!

I run 42.8 over a 168gr SMK, and 41.8 over a 175gr SMK. Both are running CBC brass with Federal 201M primers. OAL is 2.800" It runs 3/4moa or better for me in a stock 700 police.

Savage 11 Hog Hunter vs Rem 700 AAC-SD?

As long as you are planning to replace the internal magazine in the Savage, I would say that is the better route. I have a hog hunter in 223, and it is an absolute pain to load compared to my 700. Both shoot well enough for me, so the money saved is worth it in my book.

Sidearms & Scatterguns Glock 19 or Glock 19c?

If it is not a carry gun, why stick with the 19? I would pick up a 17 or 34. The C models will give you some interesting marks if you ever shot it from a close/retention position. I swapped my sights to a set of Warren tacticals with a red fiber optic front, solid black rear. Put in a new...

What are some good optional reloading pieces?

I picked up a Lyman case prep center. Having a single tool that removes the primer crimp, uniforms primer pocket and flash hole (2 steps). Having it all motorized has been super nice. Having a second scale to check the cheap Hornady one that came in my kit was also helpful.

    Looking for help, beginner reloader

As others have said, read the stickys and read on here. YouTube is also a good resource (depinding on who makes the video). I started with pistol, then moved to rifle. I found a large difference in brass prep compared to pistol. I have found it very rewarding though to make a quality rifle...

    Kaboom at Manatee today!

That is impressive that everyone is ok. With that much pressure, glad the metal went up instead of sideways down the line.

Sidearms & Scatterguns Accuracy for IDPA

The new rule for the "No moving while re-loading" thing just went into effect only a few months ago. The re-loading while moving to cover is also slightly silly, because if you are caught in the open, you actually are supposed to go back (retreat) towards your last cover, before you can move...

Sidearms & Scatterguns Accuracy for IDPA

I shoot both IDPA and USPSA, and that will be plenty accurate to start out. The most important part is being safe. I personally have started to try and shoot more "clean" stages in IDPA, focusing on accuracy first. Speed will come in time. IDPA has some odd rules, so be aware of that going...

Rifle Scopes Just took the plunge and got my first NF scope

Re: Just took the plunge and got my first NF scope How would you compare it to your Leupold Mark 4? I know the NF is still new, shiny, and pure awesome. But wondering how much of a difference you see personally. And congrats on an awesome purchase, I am lusting after that same NF.

Need help regarding Savage Accustock model?

Re: Need help regarding Savage Accustock model? Thanks for the input, I just picked up a Savage as well. McMillan states that for models with the DBM, you have to send it to them for fitting? Is this just carving the area out for the bolt release, or something more complicated? Thanks once...
