I have a very early Remington 40X repeater in 308/ 7.62 NATO. I believe that it could be from the 1964 era. She is in mint condition and has been gone through by the great Stan Taylor and crew at Douglas barrels with a new unfired Douglas XX match grade air gauged chrome moly barrel. This rifle...
Looking for a Remington 700 short action, 308 Bolt Face, blued, prefer a non- guide groove, reasonable. No big bolt knob. Just a plain bolt. Not altered.
Thanks in advance.
I have a set of Vortex 34mm 1.26 height rings that I would like to trade for a set of Vortex/Seekins 34mm 1.45 height rings. My rings do not have any marks on them, like new. They came on a scope and I need taller rings.
Thanks in advance.
It has not been mentioned, but Tract has their new 1x8 out and in stock. It is well worth the look with the Schott glass and no middleman to get into the cost. Tract has some of the finest glass for the price range. The glass compares to scopes costing double the price.
That is rust in the barrel. Sometime during the chrome plating process, there are places that the chrome is thin in spots or sometimes does not adhere well. Chrome barrels can still rust, as you have seen.
I shot a few rounds through a friends CMMG Banshee in 10mm. I was amazed at the lack of recoil. It was a big surprise and I am a PCC competitor in USPSA.
I have thought about getting one. A question to the current owners, can the cheek rest come off and it be used without it or would it leave some type of a gap or hole someplace. I have not seen one up close as of yet.
Thanks.
Just got a email today from Tract on their new 1x8, it is in stock and I have experience with their larger scopes. The Schott glass is great and the price is very good. Daylight visible and true 1x. Something to consider.
