    300 win mag questions

My original Rem 700 factory barrel (26") ran Berrger 230 match with 75gn of H1000 at 2900fps, rebarreled with a Bartlein (26" w/ brake) and nyrtride treat, pressures were high as hell, after 100 rnds settled in with a Berger Hybrid 230gn, 70gn H1000 at 2650 fps. The local guru has a pet load of...

    2013 Wyoming Tactical Rifle Championship

Another great year. The hospitality was unsurpassed. RO's were top notch, Pete, Derek, Jake and the Bill's. Thanks to everyone involved, the team on team ran much smoother and course 3 was the best.

Help me newb less! Ressources for the practical/hunting marksman

Colorado regulations are 6mm and larger for big game, 2/3 of my family hunt with .243 and I use 257 roberts. Be comfortable with your firearm. Only hits count, while talking with a LE instructor, I said snipers should be made to stalk and make cold bore shots and if they dont hit, nothing to...

Three very nice kill shots, the 22-250 has probably killed more coyotes than Cecil B Demille killed stand in's. Thanks for helping out the rancher's near that Aurthur country.

    .223 for vetenary medicine

This gentleman knows how it's done. The only thing I have not seen in this thread is to hold the firearm perpendicular to the face or scull of the animal when drawing the x marks the spot. I have known some ranchers to swear by the eyeball as a point of entry, again making the center of brain POI.

Sidearms & Scatterguns 1911 ace 22lr (price or history?)

The finish is original (90%) and the magazine is exactly as described, the rear sights are adjustable. The owner's father was a little to old for WWII but bought it and passed it down to his son (73 now) it has great sentimental value to him. Thanks for everyone's info, I will get pics for the...

Sidearms & Scatterguns 1911 ace 22lr (price or history?)

I recently taught a CHP course where a student brought a Colt 1911 ACE 22LR SN#1861 The pistol was purchased by his father sometime around 1940 and was 80-90% I completely disassembled the gun except for the slide, it had a rounded key below the firing pin that restricted the slide plate...

Training ideas for sharpshooter classes, other than shooting

The wind will always be the most fluid unpridictable one to decipher. Full value is ok, you can always make decent calls. 1/2 and 1/8 value will either leave you short left or long right. Read terrain and determine if nothing is happening in that draw or the wind coming over that ridge between...

Training ideas for sharpshooter classes, other than shooting

Mil dot in my opinion is not nearly as accurate as TMR but some people can use the dot to size targets quite well. The biggest hurdle is making the object size estimation for the math to work accurately. Fence posts are usually available and making a measurement of shrubs near by can give a good...
