What's your pick on rifle Primers & priming tools?

Re: What's your pick on rifle Primers & priming tools? That's a great idea on the RCBS primer tray-- I'll have to steal it. :-) And I really like the Forster priming tool as well.

What's your pick on rifle Primers & priming tools?

Re: What's your pick on rifle Primers & priming tools? I bought the Co-Ax priming tool, although I did not find any reviews prior. It turns out to be a great system. Easy to flip the primers, and load the tool. The seating was easy to feel to ensure proper seating. It's not cheap, though...

    Progressive Relaoding

Re: Progressive Relaoding BTW, I also looked at the 1050, but really could not justify an additional $1k. Sure, it primes on the downstroke, swages military crimps and, well, that's about it. For me, I spent the other $1k on reloading components.

    Progressive Relaoding

Re: Progressive Relaoding Chiller-- knowing the little I do about you, the Dillon 650 is the way to go. I bought one about 2 months ago, and have already loaded 4000 .40 and 1000 9mm. There's all kinds of neat gadgets out there as well, or you can design your own. :-) I haven't loaded...

    Reloading Press Help!!

Re: Reloading Press Help!! I just got started in reloading, and after much wringing of hands and consternation, I settled on the Dillon XL650 progressive, and Forster Co-Ax single stage. I can load 800 rounds per hour of .40, 500 rounds per hour of 9mm, and I have yet to try the .223. I'm...

    .308 reload press

Re: .308 reload press I went with the Forster Co_ax as well. No regrets. No shell holder changes, easy die changes, primer capture, etc. Great system.

    My new Dillon 650

After much reading, observing, interviewing, watching, consternation and wringing of hands, I finally got a Dillon 650. Although I know many here do not care for the 650, I have (so far) found I really like it. I told a friend of mine it's kind of like crack cocaine-- "just one more 100...

    Two equipment reviews

I purchase 5 gallons buckets of mixed brass from a local PD range. I have a daughter with cerebral palsy who absolutely loves to help with whatever I can find, so I made a brass sorter for her to use. The problem was it was one round at a time. Although she never complained, the process took...

Blaser Tactical 2 versus GA Precision M40?

Re: Blaser Tactical 2 versus GA Precision M40? I have a Blaser Tactical II in .338LM. It is incredibly easy to shoot, extremely accurate (at least up to 400 yards) and as many have commented here, almost always garners some attention at the range. I really like the rifle. However, my...

    338 ammo cost

Re: 338 ammo cost I work for a .gov, and I can get 338lm for about $2.75/round from a reputable company. But for my own use, I pay the same as everyone else (which is why I am getting into reloading....).

    .308 AP cases

Re: .308 AP cases BTW, I've been informed .308 ap ammo is restricted. Although I've found no regulations governing such, I do work for a .gov, and it was used in the conduct of my business. Ergo, it was ok.

    .308 AP cases

Re: .308 AP cases OK-- end result-- Berdan Primers. I feel really stupid, but I obviously had no clue the AP rounds would be Berdan primed. Lesson learned. Decapping pin replaced. Brass in the scrap bin.

    .308 AP cases

Had a class this past week where I used some LC .308 AP rounds with the green glue holding in the primer. Today I broke my primer pin trying to deprime the brass. Couldn't get the first one out. I'm thinking just throw those in the scrap brass bin-- any thoughts?

Any use for .303 from a Vickers?

Re: Any use for .303 from a Vickers? Ugh. I didn't check first-- sorry, but they're Berdan primed. Thanks for the replies, and the info! I'll put them in my "junk brass" bucket.....
