    Tikka CTR 260Rem Magazine length question

    I have a 260 rem T3 CTR and I’m loading 136 grain lapua scenar l (GB546) 0,005 inch of the rifles. It fits into the magazine just fine.

    This is true and has something to do with import/export regulations. CTR mag is not a part of TRG. I have mag without plastic bottom in my CTR and it was exactly the same than TRG-22 mag compared side by side.

    Without full length picatinny rail you might be able to use SP-4601 with 56mm scope. I think that 9 mrad model would work nicely too.

    Differences between T3 and T3x actions are that T3x has metallic bolt shroud (easy to replace), bigger ejection port and more bolt holes on top to attach rail so in my opinion go for T3!

    For me there is three drawbacks in factory stock. First is obviously cheek support which is easy to fix. Second is that I need a more upwards grip when shooting from prone position. KRG bravo would be a huge improvement for that or any pistol grip chassis for which I could pick any grip I wish...

    LoL, it seems that they are running really late :) I heard some rumours about early autumn but I guess that they don't have a date yet. It's a nice little rifle! I almost want one, but for me it should have a heavy barrel and sporter kind of stock like Sako quad range.

    Actually 6.5x55 is very common in here and it was definitely an option for me but I was looking for Tac A1, TRG or CTR and these are not available as 6.5x55. Availability of 260rem and 6.5CM just got a lot better here because Sako started to load "TRG precision" cartridge using 136gr Lapua...

    Thanks all :) Lapua indeed is awesome and I will be shooting 136gr Scenar L and of course using Lapua brass :) Maybe at some point I could try to make 260 rem from Lapua .308 Palma brass to try a small primer and to be a bit different. I also really love Hornady stuff! Great measuring...

    And of course we have also Lapua and Vihtavuori :) I got my first Sako some 20 years back. It was a P94S Finnfire 22lr. A year or so later I bought my next gun which was a Sako 75 SS 30-06.
