    USO TS-20X VS Ares ETR

Edit: Sorry, didn't catch the center dot reticle requirement. I still think you are doing yourself a disservice if you don't at least consider these: Cronus on sale at Camerland...

Bushnell Elite Tactical DMR II deal

They've been on sale for awhile but it looks like Midway dropped the price by about $30 from the last time I looked at them. I own the LRTSi LRHSi, SMRS II, SMRS II Pro, and XRS 2 models. The DMR II is the only one I hesitated on due to the tunneling and reports of subpar glass.

    Ruger Precision Rifle Discussion

The handguard looks like the Catalyst Arms ARCA rail that can be had for about $170. I ordered one for my 6mm ARC AR and I'm considering one for my RPR as well (it currently has the Midwest Industries 18" M-Lok).

    Best long range ar15 caliber

Agreed. I have six rifles chambered in 6.5 Grendel (4 ARs with 12.5", 16", 18", 20" barrels and 2 Howa Mini Actions with 20" barrels). It's not what he seeks. I concur with 6mm ARC as the best suggestion. I just built a 22" 6mm ARC AR and next up I'll be rechambering one of the Howa Mini's as well.

Crimson Trace 5 series - now half price

The Riton is a great deal for sure. I just won't buy another MOA scope so I had to pass. If that were MRAD I'd be ordering one right this second. Let us know your thoughts on it when you get it.

Crimson Trace 5 series - now half price

The CT 1-8x is an excellent bargain at the current prices. Build is solid and it feels like quality. Turrets are low profile and similar to the PST Gen 2/Razor layout but much easier to turn than the PST Gen 2. The .2 MRAD adjustments is a bummer...I'd prefer .1 mil but this isn't really a long...

    1-8 Brownells MPO

Obvious JOL product. Looks like a cross between the Crimson Trace 1-8x28 and 1-5x24. It has the wider turrets of the CT 1-8x with the smaller objective of the CT 1-5x. Non-coin slot battery cover is the same as the CT models and unlike the Riton version. Price indicates that it won't have ED...

    Post Apocalyptic spare parts.

Around here, spare parts turn into spare rifles. I am content to have my redundancy in tested working builds. Other than that I keep some LPKs, bolt rebuild kits, firing pins, trigger groups, and gas tubes.

Crimson Trace 5 series - now half price

Given that these appear have been discontinued, I wouldn't wait too long to grab the throw levers. I ordered mine directly from CT since I need them for the 1-8x as well. It was cheaper than Amazon with free shipping and $6 off ($32 shipped for four levers for both scopes). They sent me a...

Rifle Scopes Bushnell 1-6.5x24 Pro SMRS FDE Scope

I broke down and bought the SMRS II Pro for $699. Holy Moly! This thing is much better than the non-Pro (which is still very good). I would take this over a PST 2 1-6x (of which I own 2) any day of the week. I'm just sad I didn't get one at $599, or a second one at $699 for that matter. Sadly...

Crimson Trace 5 series - now half price

I've noticed that on 1x magnification, most sub-$1400 LPVO's have at least some minor edge distortion until you get to about 1.5x. It seems to be more noticeable on LPVOs that have a 1x FOV above 100ft @ 100yds. At first it used to bother me, but I've come to realize that I don't notice it while...

Crimson Trace 5 series - now half price

Fair point, but that really is the risk you take with most scopes. Most scopes end up having parts availability issues in short order after being discontinued, so that really isn't a reason to avoid the CT JOL scopes in my opinion. Everyone that bought a Bushnell LRHS is having the same issues...

Crimson Trace 5 series - now half price

Yes, the 1-5x24 is made in Japan by JOL. I'll post my impressions once I've had some time with it.

Crimson Trace 5 series - now half price

So Crimson Trace has removed the 2 Series, 3 Series, and 5 Series scopes from their site. I guess this confirms that these are closeouts prices...they may in fact go lower if folks don't bite. I have the 1-8x28 and it's a nice scope. I also have a 1-5x24 arriving Thursday. What's interesting is...

    Vortex vs Athlon

is there a 4-16 scope that is comparable to the Strike Eagle?

I believe that is the case and the Latitude series is the Philippines line. I don't have any of their scopes outside of the Pinnacle line, but I've been very pleased with the 3-18x and the 5-30x. My two 3-18x's are on 18" and 20" Grendel ARs. I have one 5-30x on a 6mm ARC gasser and another is...
