    Gunsmithing The African: 416 Rigby

Re: The African: 416 Rigby I love the paint on the stock. I think the splatter pattern is my favorite for a hunting rifle. Very impressive work overall.

    Gunsmithing Belt Grinder

I am looking for a belt grinder for spinning barrels. I am open to suggestions, but would prefer not to buy one made of diamonds or gold. Just a decent grinder that works well and doesn't cost more than my house.

Gunsmithing Totally awesome barreling and action truing system

Re: True Bore Alignment System How does this system hold the bolt? It's not going to fit in the collet chuck or the 6 jaw. Not trying to pick a fight, just asking a question. The machined parts are way sexy. Very nice.

Gunsmithing How many honestly wear safety glasses

Re: How many honestly wear safety glasses When I was MUCH younger I was grinding without goggles. I got a metal sliver in my iris. It worked itself out after a visit to the ER but left a rust ring in my eye. It had to be drilled out. I was awake when they did it. Lots of fun. I always...

    Gunsmithing Foredom Tool

I think it's time to upgrade from a Dremel. Looking at the Foredom flex shaft grinders, I am unsure of which handpiece to get for working on guns. Thoughts? Where am I going to be able to get the best price on the tool? I know Brownells sells them.

Gunsmithing How important is DRO on a lathe

Re: How important is DRO on a lathe I added a DRO to my lathe and have to agree with the getting spoiled statement above. I still use a dial indicator on the tailstock, but the DRO for the X and Y axis is really nice, especially when you are trying to sneak up on something.

    Schutzen Training Resources?

We are now the parents of a black German Shepherd puppy. I am trying to find good sources of training material. I know there have to be some folks here that are in to Schutzen. He's got good genes, and his relatives are certified, so I want to make sure I am teaching him correctly.

    Maggie’s The Dead Parrot

    Gunsmithing Threading set up

Re: Threading set up Since I am always looking for better tools, why this style of threading tool versus another? I am on my second type of threading tool, but see at least one obvious advantage to the one you are using. I was looking at the full profile 16 thread insert for this style of...

Gunsmithing Remington scope mount holes off aligned

Re: Remington scope mount holes off aligned Put the barreled action in the lathe. Indicate the action so it is running true. Put an indicator on the OD of the barrel near the muzzle. You will probably see why you only have a bit of windage available in one direction. Have your smith set...
