    Agreed. If I wasn't alreay tooled up for 260 and stocked up on components, I'd have went Creedmoor when it was time to rebarrel. I've got a matched set of AR10 upper and lower that I'll eventually build a Creedmoor on, but as a companion to my 260 and not a replacement.

    I asked almost that same question here when I shot out my 260. I'll share the same advice I got, stick with 260. You have everything you need to load it already and you're familiar with the round. Why add another round to have to buy dies, brass, components for?

    The (advertised) BC of the 90gr VLD's is .551. Launching that at 3,100+fps is nothing to sneeze at. OP, I'd throat it for the 90's and hang a 7 twist barrel on it if it were mine. It'd make one hell of a LR critter-gitter.

    Tikka CTR in .260 or .308?

    Varget will work fine in the 260, you'll just give up 100fps or so with the 140's. 2700fps is easy to reach with 140's and R17 or H4350 either one. I got well above 2750 in mine before I saw any pressure using H4350 in RP brass, but accuracy was better down at 2720.

    You may want to check this out, but I'm not sure they'll be able to inherit the 80% lowers. I know you can't build the 80% lower into a functional firearm and then sell it (without a manufacturers FFL) but I'm not sure how it works when you're gifting it to a family member.

    They issued the recall, you sent the rifle in. If they return it without "fixing" the trigger then they can be held liable for anything that happens as a result. It sucks, but they're not going to return it until it's fixed.

    There's no difference between a pistol lower and a carbine lower, they're exactly the same. Unless you're just wanting to use an 80% lower, you can use any lower on the market as long as it has never been built as a rifle.

    Turns out the seller bought the barrel used for a project that never happened. I guess whoever he bought it from has a nastygram in route. He bought it from someone else on Armslist......
